Trading Places Christmas Novels & Stories

Shopping ~***~ The third week of December came, it was a bright but snowy Saturday and also Reign’s birthday. Thankfully they took Dominic’s advice and went shopping early. The place was crowded even though it was early, there was no space in between people. It feels like a four wall house closing in that has no window or way of escaping. You are just suffocating. The streets were all packed like sandwiches in a small shut dish. After stopping at the final store to pick up some christmas wreath and decorations for the tree.

I wonder what he is going to do on Christmas day since he said he was always alone every Christmas. “Well, we have a lot to do here.” Sheena excitedly said. “The servants said there’s a shopping area near this place. It was just a ride away from here. I haven’t done my Christmas shopping and I wonder what we can buy from there.” “I haven’t done my Christmas shopping as well. Maybe we can ask someone to drive us there. What do you think?” “Okay! Let’s do that!” Sheena shrieked in excitement. I chuckled at her reaction. “Let’s finish unpacking. Maybe we can do that tomorrow. It will be dark any moment now.”

A Gift of Unexpected Support The first snow of the season fell quietly outside, covering the ground in a soft white blanket. Estonia and Travis sat by the fireplace, their living room aglow with the warmth of the crackling flames. Christmas was just around the corner, and this year, the holiday carried a deeper meaning for them. It would be their last Christmas as just the two of them; by this time next year, they would be celebrating with their daughter.

One day before Christmas day. I had to buy a present because tonight there will be an exchange of gifts. Not wanting to celebrate Christmas, but more to tradition. In my life, I have never celebrate what Christmas was like. Along the way, Christmas trees have been decorated in such a way. And every house has a Christmas tree perch. So we will exchange gifts at oma's home in Hessen. Think of it as Eid at Grandma's house.

Most of the time, we would look for herbal medicines and would trade it in the market for the next morning. Usually, we would leave the mountain at five in the morning and would arrive in the City of Trading at six, almost seven. The trade starts very early, so we need to be early as well. City of Trading was also called the Place for People. It was like a hide-out and a meeting place for everyone.

I start laughing loudly at the hypocrisy of it all much to their anger. “What are you laughing at? Go wash the utensils!” Mary orders me for lack of a suitable response. Bridget ignores my comment and resumes her plotting with Mary, Why do you think I went shopping? The company is organising a huge Christmas party on the 25th, followed by a masquerade bash on New Year’s Eve! “You better make sure you’re his date by then!” Mary sounds like she has embarked on a mission. “I am going to blow his socks off Momma! Just wait and watch!” Bridget asserts.

"Strategically." "That's a kinder word for it. I'll take it." "What's the hard part?" "Everything else." Something under it wasn't light at all, and for a second the easy rhythm between us went quiet, the kind of quiet that comes right before someone admits more than they meant to. I took a sip of the chocolate to cover it, too sweet, exactly the kind of indulgence I hadn't let myself have in months. "There's a Christmas market this weekend. Town square. Cider. A tree lighting. A man who plays the same three carols on a violin, badly, every single year without fail."

The guests keep coming and bringing some memories for this date. We do not exchange gifts at Christmas, only on January 6 , Day of Kings where Melquior, Gaspar and Baltazar , the wise men, bring gifts to everyone just as they did with the baby Jesus. I remember well that I wrote my letter to them asking for the gifts I would like to receive on the morning of January 6.

As the glistening snow falls on the city of Philadelphia, people from all over the city prepare for the most joyous time of year, which most people like to call, Christmas. The one holiday where people would get together with their friends and families to celebrate this momentous occasion. Wherein they could enjoy a cup of cocoa by the fireplace, set up a Christmas tree and fill it with ornaments, drink eggnog with all their friends until they had enough, and most importantly, receive and give gifts. But on this momentous occasion, Conrad decided to do something different this year, along with his friends and family.

PAIGE "Get ready for Christmas," Laura warns me when there's nobody in the store. Yeah, I can see that not many people usually come. It's a somewhat expensive store, and mostly people come for special occasion outfits. There are beautiful dresses, and we sell these heels that I'm in love with. "Is it crowded?" "Too crowded!" she assures me. "Especially on Christmas Eve, you know, last-minute shoppers." I can imagine; sometimes I'm like that.
