The past days, I had been feeling fatigued for no reason. Going into the bathroom, I walked to the mirror and looked at my reflection. I indeed did look tired. Taking off the t shirt I wore, my heart sank when I looked into the mirror. Black veins had started growing on the sides of my stomach like some stretch marks. They looked like tree roots but very ugly. My mind went into turmoil for a few seconds as realization dawned upon me. Shit. It had began.

My breathing grows heavier as the images reappear. Aerin’s hands on her waist. His mouth near her ear. My vision flashes gold. A low growl tears from my throat before I can stop it. Then my back burns. “Ahh!” I staggered to my feet and ripped my shirt off turning to the large mirror. Black veins have spread from where the Hollowed Vale vine had pierced me when Elara was pulling me out. I touched it and it pulsed. The edges look darker and thicker now. “What is this?” I whispered as I looked at the thing beneath my skin pushing outward.

He felt alone and helpless. Thin streams of blood flowing from the vampire's wounds stained the Nulliard's face. One of them flowed like a bloody snake into the nostril, the other into the limply parted mouth, the rest flowed randomly over the velvet dark steel skin, speckled with scratches, dripping onto the ground and staining the grass crimson. Yet everybody I had met since leaving had been so sincere and helpful. A strong pain hit me and I whimpered. Gerwulf raised my arm and I saw that my veins had begun turning black and the wounds from the bite was now seeping a thick tar like substance. He placed a small pail underneath my hand as he continued holding onto my arm. "Venom," Gerwulf mumbled to himself as he watched my arm start to turn black.
