Vera Stanhope Book 12 Novels & Stories

Vera certainly has a death wish, and if she hurts even a string of hair on Rowan's hair then I would rip her apart without a second thought, her and that mother or hers think they can do whatever they want don't they? I kicked the table again as I opened the next page of the book, the heading was written boldly in red ink "IMPERSONATION" I read out furrowing my brows, if I read it maybe I can find out how that man impersonated the rogue king and almost deceived me. Just when I started reading the page I remembered something, my bold went cold as I remembered, I left Vera in the east wing crying, Vera can never be as fast as I am so how did she reach the west Wing and the class before I did?

“I am here to discuss a rather delicate business arrangement.” Vanessa leaned forward, her interest piqued by the prospect of intrigue. “Go on, we’re listening.” “I require your assistance to dismantle Sophia,” Veronica declared, her eyes shimmering with a malevolent fire. “She is the architect of my current predicament, and I refuse to allow her to emerge victorious.” “What’s the plan?” Julian inquired, his curiosity igniting as the prospect of rebellion flickered to life. “I need you to sow discord in her life,” Veronica continued, her tone shifting to one steeped in conspiracy. “I want her to experience the profound weight of threat and isolation. She must come to understand that I will n

The silence after the storm was deceptive. Veronica Hale had vanished from public view, but that didn’t mean she’d surrendered. Not to Damien. Not to Celeste. Not to the world that had turned its spotlight from worship to scrutiny. She was quiet, but she was calculating. In a dim-lit room of her estate in the Hollywood Hills, surrounded by unopened letters and half-drunk wine glasses, Veronica stared at an old lockbox. Her hand hovered over the key. Inside it was her last card.

She did not like being on this side of things. "Yes," Lila finally said. "I will be back," Veronica said. She needed to get far from the coven as quickly as possible. Veronica snapped her fingers and was back in her study. Veronica silently walked over to her cupboard that held her liquor. She poured herself a healthy glass and walked over to the large chair that sat in front of her fireplace. She replayed her vision repeatedly.

Full of thorns and roses, I have been working in the club as normal, although I am more careful not to blow my cover because the last thing I want to let happen is anyone discovering my little fetus. Thierry and I hardly communicate, and just like we planned, he started moving around with one of the mafia princess, Miss Veronica Sanctum. She is undeniable a beauty and a badass, which made me feel insecure. I hate the way she clings to Thierry like her life depends on it whenever I see them.

He was sitting not too far from her usual place. Vera stood up quickly. “I’m sorry,” she said. “I didn’t know you were here. I will leave and let you have the whole place.” Henry looked at her and shook his head. “Sit down. This place doesn’t belong to me. You can stay here.” Vera felt surprised again. He was being nice once more. She sat down a little distance from him. “Thank you for allowing me to stay.” She went back to her book. She was still looking at the subjects and having a bit of problem with some parts. Even though she was a natural genius, some things were still hard. She kept reading the same line again and again.

Was Vera truly standing up for her? “I see,” Stephanie said slowly, each word deliberate as she moved to stand directly across from Vera’s desk. “So now you’re on Ava’s side. Why, Vera? Trying to win her favor? Or is this about getting closer to Zachary Gonzalez?” Vera stiffened. Her eyes flicked away from Stephanie’s icy stare, her jaw tightening. Truthfully, she didn’t even understand why she’d defended Ava. But she knew one thing for certain, it wasn’t to gain Ava’s favor, and definitely not to meet Zac.

Vera snickered bitterly, gathering her bearings as she straightened herself up and faced me. I was too focused on her face to see what was coming. She raised her hand and suddenlyhuge, blue flames burst from her hand before I saw her aim her fire towards me. Zane was quick to react as he conjured a shield, or some kind of barrier just when the fire was an inch away from my face. She threw it so fast I would not have been able to avoid it if it weren’t for Zane. Vera fumed as she screamed out her frustration, finding a way to get past Zane’s barrier although it obviously seemed pointless.

She rushed and got inside her room, stomping with every step. "He spoke about an ancient book," Verena whispered to herself. "He must have been talking about Lunaria's cursed book." She was quick to grab the cursed book and open it. The look in her face was straight-up disappointment in herself. "It's not going to show me anything since it's still bright outside," she sighed. Verena plopped her body on her fluffy bed and rolled her eyes. "I can't just wish for this to show the words; that won't work," she began to say to the wind surrounding her. "Verena, you tried that before; it did not work, so do not think about it anymore. You have no choice but to wait."

She had was holding a small book in her hands now, a book which she gave to Gareth. “It contains my memory.” Vera smiled and parted Gareth’s cheeks, leaving a smear of red trail on them. “Please don’t die. There must be something that we can do.” “There is nothing that can be done, Leonard.” Vera said. It was difficult to distinguish the tear that calm running down from her eyes, with the sweat that covered her body. “It’s glowing again.” Cassandra said and all heads turned to the small paper that was in her hands. “What does it say?” Vera asked weakly.
