The heavy mahogany doors swung open, and Zane walked in. He didn't look like a son visiting his father; he looked like a conquering sovereign entering a fallen kingdom. He didn't take a seat, choosing instead to stand at the foot of the long table, his dark eyes burning with an unyielding coldness.
"You ruined the family name, Zane," the father of Zane said, his voice hollow, his eyes glued to the plummeting stock charts. "The Villanueva Group is down thirty percent. You dragged us into the mud for a woman."
