The book falls with a thud onto the bed frame. It glows brightly in the sunlight and I do not dare touch it. Its leather bound cover is worn and tattered. It looks to be older than the kingdom itself. Strange lettering is on the front of the book. Symbols from a language that I do not recognize. My fingers itch to touch the cover of the book. I found a few books and sat down, reading them. A lot of them were half-truths about all creatures. Stories made up by humans who had information, half-truths, passed down from the previous generation. Most humans didn't know of us, believed it to be a fairytale, but some did and hunted our kind out of fear and false accusations. We did have treaties with some towns around us who accepted our protection for their silence and resources. But a lot of humans were out of the loop, protected from knowing our existence.

Okay let's slow down. Faes are small, usually visible, non human spirits that linger in the hidden and in between places, mostly found in nature, they can be benevolent or malevolent, and they have healing powers, invisibility luck, and others like glamour but only bad faes use that. Glamour is an illusion, it'll appear beautiful when it's truly ugly creature, also faes are indeed wingless but not all of them can fly. So if I'm a fae that means I have healing powers and so on it'll be stupid to test it on myself and even more stupid to listen to a silly dream and G****e.
