A blonde vampire strut towards us, smiling as we all looked at her. Xander quickly sat up straighter as she approached. I leaned back against Nico out of nervousness, but couldn't help but look over her features.

CHAPTER 1 Lyra's POV I never imagined I would be wearing white at my own funeral, but that was exactly what this felt like - a wedding disguised as a goddamn funeral. I was about to marry into the Iron Revenants, the very same bastards who put my mother six feet under. The final descent into the Nexus awaited. As they approached the glowing archway once more, the fusion creature had grown even stronger, now absorbing the bodies of fallen infected around it. It blocked the entrance completely and spoke with a chilling new clarity:

"wait, I think I saw her next to the ford clan's young master! she is the one who came from the vampire association!" another voice says.

Her light curly locks of blonde gold messy, dress torn and now only covering her to her knees, and her eyes of dark electric blue alive like the hottest part of a fire; in her hand the bloody dagger. I looked down to my own bloody hand and saw that amongst the commotion, I had smashed the crucifix to small pieces and I didn’t even realize it… Now my father really was powerless and alone, he held no power over the vampiress. Celeste placed the dagger into my hand, curled my fingers around it, and gave me a slight nod; our bond seemed closer and tighter than ever, stronger than when we had first mated, and now I knew her every emotion as if I were her and I knew it was vice versa.
