The courtyard buzzed with students laughing, talking, shifting lazily into their wolves before running off into the trees but my eyes locked onto the far end, their usual spot. The four alphas. Aiden. Isaac. Kian. Jax. They sat around a stone table like kings in a court each one intimidating in his own way. I could feel the eyes of the pack trailing me as I walked up to them. I didn’t speak. Just pulled out a chair and sat down. They all paused. Aiden blinked like he wasn’t sure if I was real. Isaac tilted his head, curious but guarded. Kian sat stiffly, silent as ever, his dark eyes following every movement I made. And of course, Jax was the first to break the silence.

She looked at him, she didn't know he had been looking at her the whole time. Summoning up courage, she pulled the wolf to herself. "Are you happy now?" She asked in an annoyed manner, he looked away, and she didn't know if he smiled or not. "We need to get going, you must have alerted animals here with your unnecessary screams" He held the ropes once more, pulling them to continue the journey. They moved on, with the wolfs sticking around this time. After some hours, Lila heard sounds from a distance. It sounded like...waves, was there a river nearby?

I cannot disobey my alpha, even with the Alpha Gene. I stomp out toward the house after I know he is long gone. I pause, just barely inside the garden and inhale deeply. Something smells off today. Ignoring my father's words to go to breakfast, I wind my way through the flowers following my nose. I stop in the shadow of a small maple tree and look around. The smell is stronger here than before, but it seems to cut off abruptly. Irritated, I spin in circles trying to catch the scent again.

"Who the hell do you think you are?" I fell to my knees, enduring his blows. The pain seared through me, my back a canvas of wounds. When he finally ceased, he straightened, his voice dripping with venom. "Never challenge my authority in this pack again. If you dare disgrace me with your bullshit, I'll show you how real alphas tame boys like you.” he growled. “I am sending your mother and Jenny back to africa-” My fists clenched, heart straining in my chest painfully, “Let me meet them once, please.”

It was smaller than the ceremonial hall and the flames blazed warm and bright in the main fireplace beside his chair. Galan had been our alpha for as long as I could remember, long before I was born even. He was an older grey wolf with a medium length beard that matched his greying hair. His face was kind and though he was close to sixty, still held traces of the young man he once was. He stood when he saw me enter, his smile of welcome freezing in place once he saw Kian.
