Slowly… I placed my hand in his. The moment our skin touched, something pulsed through me. Warm.Electric. Alive. A soft gasp escaped my lips before I could stop it. Kaelen’s fingers tightened around mine. Not painfully. But firmly. Claiming. The elder raised his staff again. “Before the moon, before the pack, before the spirits of our ancestors,” he declared, his voice ringing through the chamber, “the Alpha claims his Luna.” A wave of whispers rushed through the hall. But Kaelen's eyes weren’t on them.

I repeated, my tone quieter now, but heavier, more dangerous. I stepped closer, closing the distance between us. The air between us felt thick, tense, like it could snap at any second. I placed my hand on his shoulder, but he shoved it off almost immediately. “She is not just any subject,” I said firmly, my eyes locked onto his. “She is the Luna of this pack. Her lying in one of those beds is the same as the Alpha being hospitalized in his own public hospital.” He let out a light chuckle, the sound dry and dismissive, rubbing against my patience the wrong way.

A long silence followed. Then a slow, calculating smile. “Good.” Lucian frowned. “Good?” The Alpha stepped closer, power radiating like a silent avalanche. “If the Luna has truly awakened, then she is more than his weakness.” His gaze darkened. “She is the key.” Back at the pack grounds, Aiden turned toward the direction of the border, fury simmering beneath controlled calm. “They’re testing us,” he said. Maya stepped beside him — not behind. “Then let them.”

Luna then drinks the medicinal tea. "Where is the alpha? Where is my child? I just heard her cry earlier. Where is she now? Can I see her?" Luna asks the head doctor. "They are just in the living room, Luna. Just wait here, I will call the alpha for you." The head doctor replied to her. The head doctor leaves the room where Luna is resting. She went into the living room in order to let the alpha know that Luna is already awake. "Alpha…" She greeted the alpha who is currently carrying his newborn daughter.

“Yes. And the Luna… is beginning to awaken. Just like we wanted.” The Alpha smiled. “Then our plan will kick off now “ he said and smiled through his mask.

Luna, drawing upon the depths of her alpha power, stepped forward. "I am Luna, Alpha of Nampa. We seek passage through this territory to confront the sinister group. Stand aside, and there will be no need for bloodshed," Luna declared, her voice carrying the weight of authority. The hunters, their faces obscured by the shadows, exchanged glances. A moment of tense silence hung in the air before the leader of the hunters stepped forward. His eyes, a reflection of hardened resolve, met Luna's gaze. "This territory belongs to the sinister group, and you tread on dangerous ground, Luna of Nampa. We will not yield easily," the leader declared, his voice echoing through the forest.

“The Alpha who rejected you?” Lunaria’s jaw tightened. “He is nothing to me.” Nyra gave a low, knowing hum. “He will feel this claim. Every Alpha does.” Lunaria looked down at the soil beneath her feet, at the land that had answered her call. “I hope he does,” she said quietly. --- That night, Lunaria stood at the edge of the clearing and pressed her palm to the ground. “I claim this land,” she whispered—not as a plea, but as a statement. “By moon and blood. By survival and will.”

We became untouchable - invisible even. North Lotus used to be a force to be reckoned. However, none of that mattered now. We were only living off our previous glory and each day was a futile battle to return our pack to what we once were. A few people say that the day North Lotus collapsed was the day her Mum, Luna Dakota Dolphus, became Alpha. That was the day division birthed amongst the pack and it fed off the fact that Mum was a ‘woman’ and a woman couldn’t be Alpha.

But this time, I didn't give in. I moved my face away, in a way of telling her that I wasn't interested in the act anymore, but she didn't get the hint and just continued to pepper open-mouth kisses on my face. "Gross," Jeremy commented and I almost laughed at that. Now he found her gross? "Ryder, I was thinking_" And there we go again. "Now that you became Alpha, what are your plans on getting a Luna?" She asked and I froze. I knew exactly where she was heading and I wasn't going to disappoint.

Chapter 3 Casper released another growl, one loud enough to be heard above the deafening noise of battle. At once, he felt the pack's mental connection click into one thought: Alpha. Their collective relief and newfound determination to destroy the threat that was influenced by the appearance of their leader caused warmth to bloom in Casper's chest. A warmth that wasn't simply the wolf stored inside of him. He ran over his pack and the humans, honing in on a particularly loud group of humans surrounding three cannons.
