When Desire Becomes A Sin
I stared at her, at the woman who had hurt me in ways I didn’t know a person could hurt
But who was now holding our breaking world together with nothing but the desperation in her hands.
“I don’t have space for anything except him right now,” I said quietly.
She nodded, tears falling uncontrollably.
“I know,” she whispered.
“And that’s why I’m scared.”
She took a shaky breath, voice barely audible.
“Because I still love you.”
My heart stuttered.

The pilot called out:
“Sir, Ms. Ramirez prepare yourselves. We’re landing.”
The city lights rose to meet us.
The hospital rooftop loomed ahead.
