They slipped from under the duvet, falling to the floor like a stack of forbidden secrets spilling into the light. My breath caught in my throat as I stared at the photographs now scattered at her feet. “What is this?” she asked, her voice sharp with curiosity. I froze, my mind racing for an explanation, an excuse…anything that could undo what had just happened. My heart started to beat so loudly and fast, it drowned out the silence in the room. Her hand moved toward the nearest photo, and I watched in horror as she picked it up.

He scrambled to retrieve the phone, his breath hitching as he tried messaging me instead, but only exclamation marks flashed on the screen. Panic clawed at his chest. He tore downstairs and sped home, but the empty house greeted him like a tomb. I had been long gone, and my beloved specimens had vanished from the shelves, too. The relentless ticking of the clock was the only sound, a cruel reminder that this wasn't some nightmare he could wake from. His mind went blank, grasping for anything to hold onto. Then he remembered the invitation I had thrown at him, one that he had dismissed as a childish jab.

But when I got in, my idea of being the most feared person in all of Silvermoon came crashing down. Half of my ancient books were missing. Half. Books that housed deep secrets of sorcery had all gone missing in the twinkle of an eye.

And with that thought, my eyes fixated on the book, it had golden covers and was so big and heavy, I had to carry it with both my hands. Another thing I need to do is find a place to hide it; I need to find a way out so that no one can see or sense it. I looked around the room once more and saw a box beneath the bed. I quickly picked it up, put my hand on it, and said some spells, and it opened in a matter of seconds, allowing me to put the book inside. Since magic could do anything, I repeated some spells, and the box closed on its own, and I slid it under the bed. I will soon take it to my own chamber in the morning.

Next day Chenyin went to the bathroom to take a shower. Zhong Yu entered the room silently. She started to find the book. She found a book under Chenyin's pillow. She understood that it's the secret book. That's why Chenyin put it here. She took the book and put a poison book in it's place. Then she left with the book. Suddenly, Chenguang entered the room with a tray of foods. She knew that Chenyin was in the bathroom. She placed the tray in the table and quickly started to find the book. She found the poison book under the pillow. She never seen the secret book before. So she thought it was the book. Then she run away from the Palace with the poison book.

Room 8 was at the very end. I took a deep breath, the air burning my lungs. The door handle was cold under my trembling hand. I pushed it open. The room was shrouded in shadow, save for a single candle flickering on a small table. A tall, broad-shouldered man sat in a chair with his back to me. A wave of dread, as thick as the air itself, washed over me. "You came," he said, his voice a low, familiar growl. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. I froze in the doorway, my body a statue of sheer terror. The voice was a ghost from a past I didn't remember.
