The lid creaked open, revealing a collection of yellow papers, maps, and journal bound in worn leather. I unfolded the first map, my breath catching as I recognized the markings. It was a detailed layout of Mallory’s secret tunnels, passages known only to a select few within the kingdom. The Rogues had been using them to move unnoticed, to strike from the shadows. This was a great weapon in the right hands. Beneath it was another map, less detailed but more significant. It showed the location of the Rogue leader’s hideout deep within the Ironwood Mountains, a place thought impenetrable. There were several other things in the box. Drawings that I couldn't explain.

“If we follow this symbol, it leads us to a fork in the road. From that point, there are three possible routes.” I leaned in even closer, letting my eyes wander over the faded markings. “That makes sense. One route seems to pass through a mountain pass, another appears to lead through a dark forest, and the third might follow a river valley. We must consider every option carefully, as we cannot be sure which one will take us to Capris Coven.” As we poured over the map, a growing sense of excitement bubbled inside me. Durmas rolled his eyes, producing a small key from within his robes. “I brought more than just a key.” He reached into his sleeve, pulling out a folded piece of parchment. “We don’t have long, so listen carefully.” I stood, stepping closer to the bars, my curiosity piqued. “I’m listening.” Durmas handed me the parchment, his gaze scanning the hallway nervously. “This is a map of the castle and the escape tunnels.” “No one knows about it more than I do, Durmas.” I said to him.
