Ahead, half-buried in frost, something small gleamed in the moonlight. A bottle. Storm’s juice bottle. The scent of chloroform clung to it. And beside it, in the snow, tiny handprints. Blaise’s howl tore through the mountain like the roar of a dying god. From somewhere deep in the woods, a faint answering cry echoed back— soft, high, and unmistakably human. “Storm…” he breathed. Then, just as quickly, the sound was swallowed by the wind. And the world fell silent and cold.

The air in the Steele mansion was thicker than it had ever been before, as if the walls themselves had absorbed every whisper, every secret, every betrayal, and now pressed down upon the house’s occupants with the weight of inevitability. Sierra stood at her bedroom window, staring out into the darkened garden. A storm was rolling in, the clouds swelling and bruised with menace. She thought of it as a mirror of her life so close to breaking, heavy with all the unsaid words and hidden sins.

"I've got you, Davina. I'm never letting you go ever again." The world was ending around us. The Ivory Queen gave a sickening, metallic shriek as another massive swell hammered its hull, tilting the deck so sharply that the black Atlantic water lapped at the edge of the railing where Ivan had just vanished. The wind was a predatory howl, tearing at my clothes and threatening to sweep us both into the abyss. But as I looked down at Davina, the storm ceased to exist.

Storm Without saying a word, he walked towards me, watching me carefully as he slowly made his way towards me. I watched him warily, wanting to run for my life but determined to stand my ground. The look in his eyes told me he was aware of my internal battle. He walked up to me and took me into his arms, holding me against him. I stood there frozen in his arms, my body shaking from cold and fear. After a while I rested my head on his chest, seeking the warmth of his embrace and finding an odd sense of comfort in the sound of his heartbeat. After a moment of debating with myself on whether I should reciprocate. I wrapped my arms around him holding him. A foreign feeling of safety and security

Lira (POV) The storm has a voice—not a scream or a howl, but a low, steady gnashing that grinds against the cabin walls like teeth on bone. Wind worms through every crack in the timber, hissing secrets I’m too tired to translate. Inside, the air is thick and sharp, soaked with the scent of pine sap, old ash, and sweat—the kind that comes from restraint, not exhaustion.

Iris clutched her chest, feeling the faintest echo of Damon’s energy lingering deep within her soul. “Damon…” she whispered. “You’re still with me, aren’t you?” The moon above seemed to glow brighter in response. The Rising Storm As the pack gathered for the night, a tremor ran through the earth. Wolves raised their heads, ears twitching as the ground vibrated beneath their paws. From the distant horizon, black storm clouds began to churn, glowing with streaks of red lightning. Selene’s voice trembled as she spoke. “The Shadow Army… they’re coming.”

Storm held up his hand, with the signal for us all to freeze and listen. We stood there in silence, our ears perked up, trying to pinpoint what was off. The forest was quiet, the only sound being the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze. But then, I heard it - a faint humming noise, like the distant rumble of thunder. Storm's eyes locked onto mine, and I could see the concern etched on his face. Ryker and Blaze exchanged a wary glance, their hands instinctively going to the knives sheathed at their belts. Rain's eyes narrowed his senses on high alert.

This is the second in the insanity Series dealing with the Watson's and the two characters of Max and Deanna. The third will be released in November of 2020. The name of it is Breaking the eye wall. It continues shortly after where Weathering the storm leaves off. A tie in series will be released in December called "The nightmare begins." This story though fictionalized did happen in the US in late 2019. The charaters will be along or the journey in Breaking the eye wall but they will have their own series called "Nightmare". This is the first book in that series.

Just like the previous times, coming back to reality was like plummeting from some great height into the depth of stormy seas. The surface swallowed her up like the mouth of a giant fish, sucking her down into the maelstrom of freezing cold darkness. It rolled her like a washing machine until she couldn't tell up from down or dark from light. But just as quickly as she had plummeted into that strange void between reality she knew and the reality she had come from, Chloe felt herself being pulled out of the depths.

The sky over Aethel-Luna had changed from a scene of migration to a storm of deep anger. The Hollowed, the combined consciousness of the Swarm that had failed to capture a "Neo-Kin" vessel, had formed into a single, screaming force. It was a "Mind-Cyclone," a mile-high whirl of violet static and sharp data shards that turned the air into ozone and memory.
