They can destroy it and build it as many times as we want. When we are adolescents we don't look for becoming a wrecking ball to destroy the world and build it our way. If people could just understand, we just look for that path, that way we can walk through and feel ourselves. We want to be loved, we want to feel we belong to one heart, we just want to stay in the heart that will become our home eventually for the rest of our lives. Because if something of what people think of adolescents is true, we will destroy the entire world and build it up again just for one person. The person who offers their heart to us.

She whispered, this time in a much lighter tone. “You sure? But you are married to Raph” I asked, playing along with her games. “I don't love him,” she confessed. “ I decided to marry Raph because he is kind and he was the only channel I had to be with you, my love. You are the prize worth fighting for,” her gaze still fixed on mine as she leaned closer. “I love you and will fight the whole world to keep you,” she confessed again, anticipating a response. “I love you too,” I replied Well, that was what she wanted, wasn't it? I had to play by the rules of her games for a while.

"But you two hate each other. How can you be jealous when all you ever do is argue? And what did Scarlett mean about some teenage bet?" "We don’t hate each other. Or at least—I don’t hate her. She hates me. And all that fighting... it was the only way I could stay close to her. Do you really think if I’d shown how I truly felt, she would’ve treated me any differently?" he says, and without waiting for an answer, he continues, "And yeah... it was a bet. A stupid, pathetic teenage bet. And I regret it more than you can imagine," he mutters, refusing to look at either of us.

Maakua had grown to love her teacher, who also seemed to be fond of the little girl. She could cry for minutes refusing to go home unless Imelda carries her to the car and convinces her until she stops crying.

The pad of his thumb rubs soothing circles on my cheek as he speaks. "Love is when a certain boy falls in love with a girl as a teen. No sane human being would continue being uncomfortable just to spend a couple of extra minutes with someone only because they feel they love them. Loving someone gets more beautiful when you love yourself first, just the same way. Rarely, young people are taught to care about themselves exactly the way they care about their love interest. That is because not every place accepts them in a similar manner. Most of the adults till date do not give proper respect that they must give to teenagers.

Another stretch of silence sprawled into the office. My palms were cold and sweating, while anxiety churned in my stomach. Father sighed, holding his head. “Sit down, both of you.” Zephyr nodded once, and we sat on the chair across the desk, facing my father. “Both of you are too young to fall into the kind of love that can truly be called love. What happens during teenage years is infatuation, experimentation and attraction. None of that can be counted as love.” A strange uncomfortable feeling took over me hearing those words. Maybe I wanted to say that he was wrong, but what exactly was true love?

As time progresses and the years accumulate, the memories of this youthful ardor remain etched in the heart's most sacred chambers. The desire of young love is an unquenchable thirst, an ache that only the presence of the beloved can satisfy. It's the yearning for stolen moments, whispered confessions, and the intoxicating feeling of being close to the one who holds your heart. I sighed, still picking at my plate. Mom scoffed. "Having trouble with a guy?" she asked, gaining a nod from me. Their was really nothing to hide. "One thing that hurts the most in this world is having a one-sided love, especially with teens," Mom said thoughtfully. "I thought adult love hurts the most?" I questioned. Mom laughed. She drank from her orange juice and stared into space for a moment as if refreshing some hurtful moments. "No matter what I say, you won't get it, so what's the point of explaining? Just wait until you're fully an adult; maybe then you'll know. You will get to know the difference between adult love and teen love."
