“So,” he says after a second, stretching his arms slightly behind his head, relaxed. “What’s the plan for today, homeowner?”
I scoff. “First of all, don’t call me that.”
“You literally own a house.”
“I know, but you make it sound like I have my life together,” I reply.
He gives me a look.
“You bought a house,” he says. “You opened a bookstore. You survived getting shot. You’re in a stable relationship—”
