Driven by instinct, my eyes rove over the vicinity of my room, searching for the shadowed figure lurking at the corner, but when I found none, my inhibition only worsened.
He wasn’t here.
That could mean only one thing.
Darting out of bed, I went into the living room to see whether Damon was still sleeping.
However, what I came to see made me come to a grinding halt.
Right there, standing before the couch, was my phantom. But what terrified me the most was the gun he pointed at Damon’s sleeping figure.
A grin grew wide on his lips the moment he noticed my presence.
