POV Ruby I didn't like the way that Wolf was looking at me. He looked deep in thought and it made me nervous. He shook his head and then looked at me. I swear that all the anger and rage left his eyes and was replace with something else. Something that I used to see in his eyes when we were kids. I gasped in confusion. I felt unnerved and I wished that he would go back to looking angry. This new look was scary and made me uncertain. Suddenly, I felt a large hand on my shoulder and Wolf looked up at someone behind me. Immediately his eyes changed to anger but I knew that it wasn't directed at me for once. I turned and was met with Sam standing over me and Pete behind him.

I've even started to read more about body reading because although I can pick up minimal changes, understanding their meaning is a little different. He set the cups down and read it over my shoulder and went very still in the specific way he did when something required immediate recalibration rather than immediate action. I had learned to read the difference. Immediate action looked like his jaw tightening and his body orienting toward a door. Recalibration looked like complete stillness, like every external system pausing so the internal one could run faster. This was recalibration.
