With a surge of power, I lift him and slam him to the ground, a force I never knew I carried. The shock of it barely registers before pain explodes. I drop to my knees, a crack tearing through my shoulder blade. Another shatters my hip, and I scream. My hands twist, nails lengthening into sharp claws. I… I am… shifting… “AAAAH!” My body begins to shake as if it were in shock, and the ravens begin to fly aimlessly. I can’t think, I can’t even see, even though my eyes are open. I feel a soft, warm touch.

It was just her now — her and the Queen. “In the eyes of the Queen, only can the Raven King be restored…” she whispered. Her voice echoed faintly against the marble walls. She repeated it again, slower this time. Then once more. On the third whisper, something flickered. The air thickened. The lights above her began to dim. Liana blinked rapidly, trying to steady her vision, but the room was spinning, liiterally spinning. The floor rippled beneath her shoes, and the portrait of Queen Elara shimmered like a reflection in disturbed water.

Adrenaline races through my veins at the sight of him. He is monstrous and magnificent. He ducks his head down and licks the palm of my hand, snorts once, and takes off through the trees. “He couldn’t help it. So much rage at Spader, so much emotion that you got hurt, he just…shifted. As he poured out his heart, trying to bridge the gap of understanding, he closely observed her reactions. However, what he saw was not the solace or comprehension he so deeply yearned for. The expressive windows to her soul, which previously reflected warmth and compassion, now mirrored restraint and caution.

She said, and I stood still, closing my eyes with a quiet whine listening to each thud, as it’s quick, loud pace slowly subsided to a steady, even beat. I tried to call to her, but as I did, a shrill whine came out instead, which confused me even more. “No… no, don’t Raven, don’t be scared. Look for me… can you see me?” She asked and I steadily blinked several times, until I could make out the trees clearly, and as I looked to my left, there she was. Standing in front of me… but strangely so much smaller! She was just looking at me with her mouth wide open. “You shifted, Raven!”. She said with delight.

As Shadow revved the Ferrari with a little more gusto than required, Raven slid the device back to on and mid-level pulsing. “Mmm,” Vixen shifted on the chair, inclining her neck to the side as if to allow kisses along its length. Raven counted to thirty and then changed both the pulsing rhythm and strength as Shadow eased the Ferrari out onto the road. Vixen slid Raven a look out of the corner of her eye and ran her tongue along her bottom lip.

Timothy added and slowly wrapped his hand around me. "Is there something wrong?" Nath came to us. "Luna, you are releasing a lot of your scent. I could smell it very strongly from the door, are you okay?" “She is shifting,” Timothy said to him. Why was I even shifting now? Why had Raven decided to come out now? Wouldn't it be dangerous for me to shift while I am pregnant? Wouldn't it be too much for the baby? Although I had a bump, I wasn't too far gone. My pregnancy was still young and the strain of shifting would take a toll on the baby.

She was shivering in pain, folding herself up, trying hard to breathe through the pain. Tears fell from her eyes, I couldn't bear to see her in pain but there was nothing I could do. I didn’t know what to do or how to help her. I looked up at Derek and Dale for help but they only stared back at me lost. A voice suddenly says “Oh my God! She’s shifting”. This brings my attention back to Raven, I could see her change begin, shocked at what i’m witnessing right now, I slowly back away, giving her space to shift.
