"'Is it your day off today?'' I asked first. ''Yup!'' sumagot naman siya agad. ''Ohhh... you're too busy, so I'm really embarrassed. You should just be resting on your day off.'' ''No, didn't I tell you I really have to pass by the office? That's really me when it's my day off. I still go to the office. I'm also filing a leave because I want to rest for 1 week.'' ''Oh, really? That's good. So, what are your plans for your 1-week leave? You're probably going on vacation, right?''

Pinatagal pa nitong lalake na 'to. Ngumiti naman ako sa kanya. "I will." "Maybe, a week will be fine. Can you double-process my permission to take one week of leave?"

“I’m sorry but it’s confidential but I’ll leave you in charge, Ikaw na muna bahala dito okay? “Okay. Kailan ka pala uuwi? Malayo ang Baguio.” “Ah, sa Martes na. Naka-file na ako ng three days leave for emergency.” “I overlooked that. Who approved your leave, then? I know Lexy won’t allow a newly hired employee to leave for three days.” “Really?” Tumawa nang pagak si Jeo. “I couldn’t believe that. The CEO never cares about the lower employees' absences and leaves. The supervisors can decide after Lexy’s approval.”

Seven entire days beyond my supervision. Seven days where I wouldn't know where she was, who she was with, or what she was doing.
