ASHINA’S POV The clanging of footsteps shattered the suffocating deadlock. It began as a faint, almost imperceptible rumble, like a distant storm murmuring across the plains. Gradually, it intensified, becoming the steady, deliberate pounding of boots marching in harmony, vibrating through the soil and into our bones. I held my breath while Alpha Knight paused mid-motion, sword suspended in the air, his gaze snapping sharply towards the growing noise. Then, out of the shadows, they appeared. It was the warriors clad in deep midnight blue, their faces adorned with the sacred patterns of my bloodline. Their presence was like a surge of memory brought to life.

I kiss the side of her head, then finish eating while Doc Everett draws my blood. “Careful, Doc. I might start calling you a vampire,” I say when I see how many vials of my blood he’s taken. He snorts. “You wouldn’t be the first, Iniko,” he says, putting my blood in a container, then going to sit with my Aunt Kaylani. As I look around the room, I realize that all of the Elemental dragons and their mates are here, as well as Cal. As I finish eating, the food mom ordered comes in. I wait until everyone gets food, including another plate for me and a real plate for Brooke before looking around the room.

Cassy's smile returned. "So all we have to do…" Kazuki leaned closer and whispered calmly, "…is sit back and watch." He lifted his glass toward the window. "And enjoy the show." Cassy followed his gaze toward the city skyline. "What's the title?" she asked playfully. Kazuki chuckled. "Simple." He raised the glass slightly higher. "Aureline Corp is Fallen."
