Memories came rushing back, filling the void I had been feeling. A sharp pain burst in my head. When I came to, Amelia's shadow loomed over me, more terrifying than ever. A chilling thought struck me… Amelia looked like she was up to something sinister with my mother. My eyes went wide with fear. I tried to reach my mother, but as a mere spirit, I was helpless, forced to just watch. It was like the time I could only watch my mom fall from a building, unable to do anything. Amelia had cornered my mother at the lakeside.

A thick kind of darkness, the kind that felt untouched, like no one had stepped foot in here for a long time. like an old bookstore that had been forgotten. I took a careful step forward, reaching blindly until my foot hit something hard, and before I could react, a pile of something collapsed over me, making me yelp as I stumbled. Panic shot through me as I tried to find my footing, my hands scrambling for something, anything, until my fingers brushed against a switch, and light flicked on, brightening the whole room. I sucked my breath in awe. It was a library. A fucking massive library.

" Darkness. It came down upon her with the same force as Lily like. Her wrists hurt, bound so tightly the rope burned into flesh. Coppery, rich, fleshy, and warm was the flavor of the blood on her lips—warm. I know for a fact that if I was truly settled and contented with what I have for the past centuries, I would have died by now. But I’m not dead, so my heart hasn’t reached it’ contentment. And while I don’t wish to see how it ends, there’s a longing curiosity inside of me that seeks to know what it is could sedate a monster like me. There was none, I thought. Until it happened. The black and white scene. Flashing an image of a school's playground with two people talking to each other. One girl and one boy, smiles on their faces as they both let the wind sway their swings.

I replied quickly. I didn't want to cause any more commotion. I turned around, trying to walk back towards the house. One step. Two steps. My head was throbbing. My vision began to blur. The voices sounded distant. "Are you sure—" The third step felt empty. The floor seemed to disappear from under my feet. And the world went dark. The darkness didn't feel like falling. It was more like being pulled backward. Far away. To a place I had long wanted to forget.

There were only a couple of other kids that chose to read over the computers. I browsed the bookshelf searching for a book to read, my step-father set fire to all my books in the wheel barrow when he first moved in with us. I picked a book up from the shelf, my father had bought me it before he died, I was surprised to see it in a school library. The Darkest Minds. I found my way over to a comfy seat in the corner of the room. Fishing out my glasses from my bag I made sure no one was looking before I put them on. "Hey." A boy interupted me three chapters in. "I'm Aaron." Peeking up from behind my book I saw a guy staring at me with a huge grin on his face. I had no idea how long he had been

I'm contacting different orphanage agencies to take them in, some agree to go in pairs. The thudding of heavy footsteps pulls me from my thoughts, and the slapping of their feet on the ground causes me to smirk menacingly. Men. Always chasing after what is vulnerable, too bad I'm no damsel distressed. I hasten my steps, heading under the dark bridge I saw earlier. The thudding of their footsteps got louder as they got nearer, bending the curve to the bridge, Carter crowds me in and grinned. “What's a Young girl like you doing in the darkness?” He reeks of alcohol, his breath fans my face, and my body recoil with disgust.

Roy panicked. The two walked on the pavement secretly, away from Eka’s father's supervision. It’s the happiest moment they had, sadly enough that happiness will disappear soon. * * * The skies are getting dark, and the boys are now satisfied with walking around the neighborhood. They decided to return to the mansion at seven, the boys sneakily entered inside the building only to hear the sound of Eka’s father's scream. His scream filled the entire mansion, the scream of agony and pain.

She struggled and got to her feet then adjusted her vision just in time to see Chris advancing menacingly towards her. Eric let out a groan as he picked himself off the floor after a terrible landing. He shook his head to clear off a head bump and quickly accessed his situation. He was alone and in what seemed to be some kind of passageway.The only source of light were some low energy bulbs above. "Daniel? Annabelle?" He called out. There was no response. "Great." He muttered. " Could this day get any worse?" Just then he heard footsteps around the corner. With the way the ground trembled excessively, it meant there were a group of people coming his way.

His other hand was in the pocket of his coat. "Okay, let's go then," I mumbled to myself and put the bowl in the lock. The fret jumbled as it turned into it. Click. With a quick step to the side, out of the line of fire, I yanked the door open. Nothing happened. I waited, but no proles jumped out to pounce on us. The empty frame was like a dark throat into another dimension. Not even a breeze dared to move in these seconds. Boiler rooms had always seemed suspicious to me and having a monster lurking down there didn't make it any better at that moment.
