Nathan smiled wider. “You remember this?” Fear crashed through the room. Because for the first time, Victor looked horrified. Really horrified. Nathan moved his head. Then pressed the button. BEEP. And somewhere above them, something exploded.

“You don’t get to take it. You… you monster.” A dark chuckle answered me. “And what are you going to do about it?” he taunted. Before I could respond, the ground suddenly began to tremble beneath my feet. The vibration spread outward like a ripple, strong enough to make me struggle to keep my balance. Around us, the nightstalkers dropped to the ground almost at once. They hit the dirt hard, their claws scraping as they let out pained, eerie howls that echoed into the sky. I blinked in confusion, my heart pounding.

I climbed slowly, careful not to slip a foot. I finally reached the bottom part after a few minutes of praying while climbing down. My hands and feet were shaking as I stepped on the ground. When I looked ahead, there was only one torch lighting the tunnel. I walked limply towards it while I held on to the wall to support myself. I wondered why they only lit one when they knew I’m coming. My heartbeat started to become unsteady. I suddenly feel a cold air around me. Why am I having goosebumps? I took the torch from the handle. It slipped through my hands when I suddenly saw a scary man who had brazen fangs and blood red eyes.

It always starts out the same… I don’t know what woke me up. I’m lying still in my bed. Sweat is pouring down my neck and back, nearly soaking through my nightgown. The room I'm in is completely dark. Not dark, where you can see the shadows of your furniture. It is pitch black. Almost as if any light in the room has been sucked out. That’s when I feel it. At first, I can hear heavy breathing. I open my mouth to call out to Bree or Lana, but my vocal cords are frozen. The feeling starts at my feet. It feels like claws grinding against my sheets. My heart is beating wildly in my chest. My breathing hitches as it begins to travel from my ankles to my knees. Goosebumps gather throughout my body.

I would've taken the time to appreciate the movie reference if I wasn't so terrified. Goosebumps covered every inch of my skin. I wanted to scream but nothing left my lips. I gulped. I looked down at the bathtub full of blood, at least that was what it seemed. There was something poking out slightly out of the water. With shaky hands, I reached out and dipped my hand in the water. Feeling something hard in it, I grasped it and pulled it out only to throw it back into the water while I stumbled backwards due to fright.

He turned to his colleagues who I knew were all surrounding us, like ominous statues, the little moonlight bouncing off their forms. "You will all get your turns, but I want her first." I felt his cold, bile-inducing grip on my thigh. "I am sure it's her first time." Fear crawled into my veins as I tried to breathe through my nose.
