The fear signal was so strong it overloaded their cohesion. The dust particles simply gave up. They lost the will to be birds.

I made another mad dash, with Nyx right behind me. We finally found refuge against a scarecrow, our chests heaving as we caught our breath. But the scarecrow blinked at me, and suddenly, it sprang to life, jumping down from its post, brandishing a machete, and making a beeline for me. Nyx and I shrieked and fled in opposite directions. I sprinted to the right, heart racing, desperately trying to put distance between me and the scarecrow. I stumbled upon a darkened area in a field and dove into the bushes, hoping to evade him.

Suddenly the movie showed the ghost emerging from the cupboard and pouncing on the patient, when he was fast asleep. "Arghhhhhh!!" Appeared the noise from the telivision. "Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!" Appeared a louder scream from Troy's mouth, scaring Eva too. "What happened Troy? Are you alright?" She turned to look at Troy who had now closed his eyes in much fear, and had covered his face with a pillow, shivering a little.

It's funny when I see other people's perspectives on things I love. Just 10 minutes into the movie, I glanced over at Malea. Goosebumps had risen on her arms and she shivered absently. Silently, I unfolded a blanket and tucked it around her. "Thanks." She smiled. Timidly, she reached over and took my hand in hers. Soon enough, by the climax of the movie, Malea was practically in my lap, cowering from the horror on the screen. She had her eyes covered, her head tucked in the crook of my neck.
