He exhaled sharply through his nose, his lips curling into something cold. “You’re reckless, princess. You piss off the wrong people, you run your mouth at the wrong time, and one day, you’re going to find yourself in a situation where no one’s coming to save you.” I clenched my jaw. “And let me guess—you think you’re my knight in shining armor? The one who rejected me, remember?” He tilted his head, considering me. “No,” he said simply. “I think one day, you’re going to push too far. And there won’t be anyone left who gives a shit whether you make it out alive.”
