ปฐมกาล 6 1-4 น้ำท่วมโลก 6เมื่อมนุษย์เริ่มทวีจำนวนขึ้นบนโลกและให้กำเนิดบุตรสาว 2 บรรดาบุตรชายของพระเจ้าเห็นว่าบรรดาบุตรสาวของมนุษย์สวยงามก็เลือกเอามาเป็นภรรยาตามใจชอบ 3 แล้วองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสว่า “จิตวิญญาณของเราจะไม่คงอยู่กับมนุษย์ตลอดไป เพราะเขาเป็นเพียงมนุษย์ที่ต้องตาย เขาจะมีอายุขัย 120 ปี” 4 ในสมัยนั้นและสืบต่อมาภายหลัง มีคนเนฟิลอาศัยอยู่ในโลก คือสมัยที่บุตรชายของพระเจ้าไปอยู่กินกับบุตรสาวของมนุษย์และมีลูกหลานกับเขา คนเหล่านี้เป็นคนใหญ่คนโตที่มีชื่อเสียงในยุคโบราณ
