Space Warfare Books Novels & Stories

Made perfect sense, but I was also confused. “If he isn’t the beta, does that mean you have two betas?” I inquired because I was confused. A pack only had an Alpha, A beta and sometimes A gamma, who was the head warrior in most cases, but not all. I had never heard of one with two betas.

VITTORIA’S POV Three days before the wedding, I was sitting in the library. Not hiding. Not lurking. Sitting, comfortably, curled into one of the leather lounge chairs with a book resting open in my hands. The Art of War. Sun Tzu had lived and died long before men like Nikolai De Luca ever learned to call themselves kings, but strategy never aged. Power never changed. Only the pieces on the board did. I liked ancient warfare texts. They were honest. They didn’t pretend victory came from morality or mercy. They understood what most people refused to admit, wars were won before the first blow was struck.

A distant memory of X teaching me of divine weapons came to mind. “The weapons that are attuned to gods, or primordials, capable of incredible feats, like the spear of Ra, used to keep Apophis, the dweller of the void away, or Zurvan's hammer, the one that legends say was used to mend the expanse of space and time, after the Schism, when gods separated and built their different pantheons. It was said that Zurvan used his hammer to re-forge the space-time continuum, returning it to it’s original state. A weapon capable of breaking and reshaping reality itself.” Wait, that’s it?

They took the oracle to the deepest part of the village where the rebels lived, to give him time to concentrate on divining the future that awaited them. "You must prepare for war, it is inevitable. Blood corrupts the enemy, so you must watch your necks if you want to win," that's all the oracle says, who was in the middle of what looked like a ritual. "Blood? Neck? Maybe we'll have to face vampires after all, this looks very bad," Marcus says. "I don't know, but we won't be afraid to face the people who want to harm us, so let's arm ourselves with courage and eradicate evil from the world. And if we need to go to war to achieve that, so be it," says Lyra optimistically.

*Jaedon’s POV* “You’re saying war?” My best friend and Beta, Peter Normandy raised his eyebrows at me. Peter and I had met when we were children. Our pack, Snow Creek, had taken over his own pack Everforest. Now, the remaining joined us and pledged their loyalty. It hasn’t been a terrible thing for them though. We didn’t have to kill anyone. Their Alpha had been sick and the sickness was spreading. He asked us to take over the healthy of their pack so it wouldn’t have to die off. Our Alpha at the time obliged.

I also prayed earnestly that he didn’t forget me here. I spotted a bookshelf at the far end of the room and decided to look through it in hopes of finding something to read. The majority of the books were about werewolves and the pack’s history. There were also books about politics, war, and governance. I would have loved to pick up the book that contained information on all members of the Crescent Moon Pack, but I decided against it. It would seem like snooping. I finally settled on a book titled ‘The Art of War.’ Not that I was a fan of violence but I was curious to know why the author had referred to war as an art. It was such a controversial claim.

Taz turn on a small torchlight which he had taken along with him before sneaking inside the sacred library. Every book in the library was about the blood moon beast. Despite the alikeness of all the books, there was a particular one that caught Taz's attention. It was a grey book with ancient inscriptions. He pulled it out, dusted it and hid it inside his garment and hurried out of the hidden room. Unknown to Taz, as he walked out of the room through the secret door and out of the library, the secret room disappeared and there was no secret library there anymore.

I browsed the shelves, and I read the titles. Into the fire, A firsthand Account of the extraordinary Battle in Afghan War by Dakota Meyer, Bing West 500 Days, Secrets and Lies in the Terror Wars- Kurt Eichenwald The War for crown and Empire There are all sorts of books about wars here. I paused in front of a book that I deemed the most interesting. I pulled it out of the shelf and stared at it, contemplating whether to get on with it or not. I can choose a much thinner book… The 33 Strategies of War- Robert Greene

“Hey, you really don’t get it, do you? They’ve both been promoted to War Commanders. If they duel now, it’ll be their first duel since receiving those titles. Isn’t that exciting?” At last, another soldier understood and snapped his fingers. “Damn, you’re right. The Commander of the Ground Forces versus the Commander of the Air Forces. Who’s going to win?” Steven gritted his teeth at all the ridiculous comments. Meanwhile, Zach merely shrugged, struggling to suppress a smile. “Who knows? The fact is ... you don’t want to do it right now, do you?” “I ... I ....” “Do you have the guts or not?” Zach cut in calmly, wearing an expression that made Steven want to punch him.
