Summer Reads Novels & Stories

While the servants were thinking of a solution, a young lady walked in with a bright smile. "Passing through, let me in. Amira, it's me, Summer. Guess what happened? The biggest wedding in town became the biggest embarrassment in town." Summer the young lady who had walked in remarked. Summer was a young 22-year-old girl, her long black hair was tied into a messy bun and she wore sweatpants and a black windbreaker. It was evident, she was coming from her race track. Summer is a racer and not only races with cars but also with bikes and others. "Come on Amira, are you going to keep me waiting? You know how much I hate waiting." Summer remarked hitting the door again.

Checks the time 'Sh*t it's already six thirty'. Summer had begun and all of the neighborhood kids took advantage of every bit of daylight that shined. As soon as the sun come up you could hear the ATV's rummble from inside the house. Blacking out her windows to get some sleep during the daylight hours had done its job but there was nothing she could do about the noise disturbing her rest. She remembered what it was like to be a child. Carefree. Happy. Endless summer days with friends. That isn't something she dared ruin for them. Besides her salted caramel java monster would pep her up in no time.

"I was never your man Sam..please stop with your delusions." It was how his words were harsh, but somehow, his voice was so collected they sounded like silent jabs. But she did get the message, she turned around to leave, looking back one more time and then coming back for her egg rolls before disappearing out of the doors. I wiped off an imaginary sweat from my brows. " At this point I am sure you know everyone I met here this summer" I joked. " I probably do. We all went to the same high school and even though we are all based in different parts of the world now, summer is still held at Malibu. Always at Malibu. It's like a tradition.

“She’s on your side, or at least claims to be… Aren't you… friends of some sort?" She chuckled and shook her head. "You sweet summer child." My face heated. "What does that mean?" "It's a saying about children and seasons." "Is this… from across the border?" She nodded. "A child born in a season only remembers the season after. Summer children only see the outcomes: the harvest of fall. They don't see the blistering days of tilling the land, the winter, etc. You are a summer child: optimistic, full of hope. It's adorable and attractive on you, and… surprising."

” Aaron ~”Nobody, just Rey. Rey ~”Nobody either.” Summer ~”I will go check who it is.” She slips her Ruger in the back of her pants and goes to the front door. We can hear her unlock and open it. We hear her screaming from the from. Summer ~”YOU GUYS BETTER COME LOOK HERE.”

I looked up, and under the shade of the trees, he stood quietly—tall and composed—but his face was hidden in shadow. It was summer, and the cicadas buzzed noisily in the background. It suddenly brought me back to the end of the video I had seen in the theater. He had been sitting there, hands clenched tightly together, saying, “Sadie, I want you to be happy.” Even now, I couldn’t forget those words. So, I answered him, “Because someone wants me to be happy.”

Bethany's expression froze, the joy in her eyes vanishing as sheer panic took its place. The terror she felt was laid bare in front of Mitchell, and in that moment, it looked almost comical. Though it was the height of summer, Bethany felt a chill crawl over her skin, a chill that had nothing to do with the weather. She had already experienced the madness that Mitchell could descend into for Heather's sake, twice now, and the fear of reliving it a third time made her stomach turn.

“By the way, Lou... do you have any plans today?” “Not sure yet, Ma. Why?” I replied, mouth half-full. Mama gave me a look. “I just think you should go out. Don’t you get bored staying home all day? It’s your summer break, Lou. You should be out making memories, not slowly turning into a houseplant.” I chukled. “Ma, I literally just went out yesterday, remember?” “Yeah, and where did you go? The coffee shop. You ate, came home, and that was it. That doesn’t count. Don’t you have plans with your friends?”

He replied and I chuckled in response. We continued the rest of our walk in silence as I tried to ignore the warmth and focus on the scenery before me. He was right; I had never seen this side of Glenavon. They had cherry blossoms that lined the landscape and gave it a beautiful backdrop. I gasped when I heard the sound of the waterfall in the distance. As we got closer to it, we stepped onto a path where some of the slaves hung around in groups muttering within themselves. Their aura caught my attention and I noticed something peculiar about all of them. And familiar, they all glowed like Aisling.

He saw Jake instructing the maid what to be done inside the villa. "Where's Summer?" He curiously asked Jake in his formal tone when he didn't see her around the house. "She went out early, she said she would meet a friend." He replied. Making him felt gloomy all of a sudden. She went out early today, since it was her rest day she took the opportunity to buy something for her mom and her sister Kylie, her birthday was coming by the end of the month and she wanted to surprise her and send her gift in advance.
