Which Jane Austen Book Should I Read First Novels & Stories

I couldn’t help but scoff at the irony as she held up “Pride and Prejudice” I had yet to read it but had it on my reading list so I understood the concept. Just from the synopsis I remembered reading, could I compare myself and the handsome boy in front of me to Elizabeth Bennet and the wealthy Mr. Darcy? Maybe reading it would be enlightening and since it was already on my reading list at home, I could also check that book off. She brought out stacks of copies and placed them at the start of each row, asking that they be handed back.
