Whitney's POV     

The full moon was high up in the sky lighting up the whole place. It was a beautiful night in the city of Montgomery in the state of Alabama, United States of America. 

I was wearing a yellow dress with brown footwear as I sat on a small rock close to a large field where wheat, maize, sorghum, and barley were planted. My lovely pale flawless skin glowed in the pale light of the moon. It was a couple of minutes to eight in the evening. 

The rock I was sitting on was about half a mile from the packhouse, and not too far from the packhouse and the Alpha's mansion. Just behind the rock was a stream that flows into the Alabama River. The packhouse, the Alpha's mansion as well as the field were surrounded by a large forest.        

The field, as well as the crops in it, belong to Alpha Don who is the leader of the Shadow Pack where I, Whitney Stanford is an Omega, and my parents are caretakers who take care of the injured wolves in the pack, and my elder brother, Martin is a Delta in the pack.      

Aside from our work in the pack, my brother, my parents and I are employees in the Alpha's mansion. I work as a maid, my father is the butler, my brother is the gardener, and my mother is the Chief housekeeper.

As I sat on the rock, the cool evening breeze blew through my shoulder-length glossy dark hair and caressed my pale flawless skin. Although I was just 16 years old, I looked more mature for my age.     

Anyone who doesn't take a close look at my innocent-looking face with mesmerizing hazel eyes would think I was eighteen. At my age, I was 5 feet, 11 inches tall with an exceptionally breathtaking pretty face and alluring hourglass shape.

I lifted my head to gaze at the full moon for some seconds as my mind drifted to my parents who are very poor and it will not be wrong to say that they are among the poorest in the pack. According to what my mother told me, I was born in the Alpha's mansion where my parents were working.                    

My mother had difficult and prolonged labor which almost cost her her life. The labor started in the packhouse where she could have delivered but when the two nurses attending to her realized that she was losing a lot of blood and might die, one of them went to inform the Alpha who immediately asked them to bring her to his mansion. He immediately called his human doctor who was staying close by. 

When the doctor arrived, he immediately attended to my mother, and soon after, I was born. My mother told me that I was a beautiful baby and the doctor was amazed by my beauty as well as every other people that saw me.       

I grew up in the Alpha's house and saw myself as a servant having nothing to my name. 

I had few clothes and two shoes which my parents managed to buy for me from the meager salary the Alpha pays them because they are indebted to him since my elder brother, Martin almost lost his life due to a hole in his heart and had to undergo a life-saving surgery which the Alpha solely paid a huge amount of money for.           

My life has been devoid of happiness and I hope that when I turn eighteen and have my first shift, I would know my mate who I hope will be a good, handsome and caring man, and my life would be a total turnaround for good. This has always been my prayer since I became wise enough to know the importance of a mate in a werewolf's life. 

I thought of all the good-looking nice men in the pack. There were a few of them and I hoped that at least one of them would be my mate as a smile spread across my face.

Suddenly, I felt strong hands grab my waist from behind and lift me from the rock that I was sitting on. I was stunned and thought it was my elder brother, Martin, who was always mischievous with me. However, the hands held me so tight that it was causing me pain. 

I was furious as the hands put me on the ground and I quickly spun around angrily. Instantly blood drained from my face as I gazed into the brown eyes of Luther, the first son of Alpha Don who is to be his successor in a couple of months when he turns eighteen. He was presently 17 years old.

As I stared at him with a mixture of emotions ranging from surprise, and anger to fear, I saw a smirk spread across his face.

"How dare you touch me? How dare you lay your filthy hands on me and disturb my peace?" I fumed in anger.

"Well, pretty angel, I am here to make you feel like a woman," he said with a sardonic smile.

"What the heck are you talking about?" I asked with a confused expression.

"What I mean is that I want you to experience the pleasure of sex. I know that you are still a virgin and you have never felt the sensuous touch of a man. I know you probably might have been fantasizing about it and I am here to fulfill your dreams. I have always desired to make love to you, and today my desire must be fulfilled," he said with a smirk.

"You must be very stupid to tell me that! Well, for your information, I might be looking forward to finding my mate when I turn eighteen but not fantasizing about any man, and certainly not you!" I paused for a moment as he rolled his eyes.       

"I have so many important things to think about and making love to a man is not one of them. Until I meet my mate, I have to strive to achieve my goals," I said slightly out of breath.

"What goals can a miserable Omega like you have?" he said as he roared into derisive laughter. I was dumbfounded and hurt by his words as I gazed at him with pain in my eyes.

"I don't blame you for ridiculing me. It's just my fate that I was born poor, which is made worse because we are your father's employees," I said with a sad tone.

"Yes! You, your brother, and your parents are our servants, and our servants you shall be for the rest of your miserable lives!" he said with a sardonic smile.

"Heaven forbid! My parents and I will not remain your servants forever. How dare you ridicule my parents? You can ridicule me for all I care but don't you dare ridicule, my parents!" I  fumed in anger.

"Hahaha...you are very funny. Your parents are nothing but mere servants to my parents and that also includes you. You are as worthless as your parents!" he said as I raised my hand to his face to slap him.

With the speed of lightning, he grabbed my hand as it was about to touch his face and slapped me hard on the face.

I was dazed as I stumbled. Luther rushed to me and pushed me. I fell on my back. I yelled in pain as I struggled to get up. I raised myself from the ground and was on my knees.      

Suddenly, with a swift movement, he rushed at me and grabbed my waist. He pushed me and I fell on my back. Then, he lay on top of me as he grabbed my two hands and pinned them to the ground. I felt helpless as I stared at him in shock.
