Moonbound Deception
Her eyes locked onto Kael, and I could feel the chill in that stare—sharper than a blade.
Kael crossed his arms over his chest, jaw tightening as if holding back an explosion within himself. “You don’t know what you’ll be facing out there, Luna.”
“I know more than enough.” Luna stepped closer, her breath heavy, but her steps steady like a soldier heading to war. “What I know is that someone—or something—took the life of the only person I considered my protector. And the only clue we have so far... is a wolf bite.”
My heart dropped at her words. As if a wound that hadn’t fully healed was being ripped open again. I quickly spoke up, trying to mediate, even though my voice trembled.
