Runaway Groomsman นิยาย & เรื่องราว

He took his role as a fake groomsman seriously. “He wants to see you! He's got something to give you. A pre-wedding gift!” He said. “The groom is not supposed to see the bride before the wedding day!” said Giselle. “Yeah, well, everything about this wedding has been unconventional. I'm just trying my best to keep him happy,” Cody replied. “It's fine. Let him in! Guys, thanks, but we'd need some privacy!” Aston came into the room. He was off his crutches now. Although he'd need to hit the gym to rebuild his previous stature, he was a lot stronger. His shoulders were getting broader.

But that didn't mean I'd let him humiliate me the same way twice, especially not on my wedding day. Michelle had been Gaius's junior back in school. At our small but warm wedding seven years ago, she had caused a similar scene. Just as the officiant was about to prompt the groom to say "I do," she burst into tears in the audience, creating chaos before collapsing on the spot. Gaius had no choice but to rush her to the hospital. He stayed by her side for a full 48 hours. The wedding ended without resolution. That day, his social media update read, "Safe and sound," followed by, "Tying the knot."

CAELUM My heart wouldn't stop pounding in my chest at Ryker's crazy plans. I tried to keep my expression blank, and focus on the task at hand. Camera flashes fell against my face, lots of media personalities were covering what they called ‘yet another suicide bride’. We were currently in the massive villa reserved for the wedding preparations. The guards seemed to have tripled. Howard's people aside, the Lachlan bastard brought more men to ensure everything was done according to the book. Which in turn makes my mission harder by a hundred degrees.

THE RUNAWAY BRIDE OF GREYFALL CITY. THE WEDDING THAT NEVER HAPPENED. Teresa ole had always envisioned her wedding day as the happiest occasion of her life. She thought about flowers, white orchids, lilac roses, petals floating under her feet like blessings from the universe. She thought about joy, loud laughter, her mom crying softly into a handkerchief while her dad, trying to appear firm, would show his weak point through trembling hands. She thought about love.

There was no way it was going to happen until his plan would be successful. He decided to give her some time so she would be obedient. "Sir, please open the door. The bride has run away." The next morning, someone kept knocking at the door when he was still sleeping. Nobody ever tried to take him up like that as they knew what they would suffer later for doing so but why today? Getting up he opened the door. "Did you forget your manners or I should—" "The bride has run away…" the servant announced, trembling in fear. Yesterday night, they were happy thinking that finally their cold-blooded boss got married but as they woke up in the morning they found out she left the mansion already.

I stood in my elaborate wedding dress in the center of the hotel banquet hall, bowing slightly to the guests gathered around. "Thank you all, friends and family, for coming to today's wedding ceremony. However, there's been an unexpected change. The bride will no longer be me. It will be Lisa Jenner instead. "I deeply apologize for this surprise, and I'm grateful that everyone took time out of their schedules to attend this wedding banquet. I hope this won't dampen your spirits, and please continue to enjoy the celebration."

He laughed. “No, but good guess. What a nightmare that would be. No, four is that I am not only a groomsman in the wedding of my ex-girlfriend and former best friend, but I am a dateless groomsman in the wedding of my ex-girlfriend and former best friend. My date bailed on me at the last minute, so I’m going to look pathetic, and I’ll probably get drunk and hit on a bridesmaid—the whole thing is going to be a nightmare.” She brushed that off with a wave of her hand.

Instead, they were delighted to hear something from him instead of his usual grumpy look and grunts. A man wearing a perfectly designed and tailor suit came up to the stage and greeted everyone. It was the mysterious groomsman who has been the talk of the young women around. He looked regal and handsome, he may not compare with the handsome Augustine Kings, but he has his own charm that no one can deny. He turned his head towards Augustine and Allana who had stopped shedding tears and watched him instead.

Running away just wasn’t an option because that also meant I had to bail on Rona—and I did not want the cocktail bar to receive a bad review. “Just be a good girl, finish your job and leave,” I spoke to myself. I looked crazy, but it didn’t really matter anymore. My hands were shaking as I reached for the handle to open the door. I didn’t have to face him. I could just pretend like we never met. Who was I kidding? He was my partner. I widened my eyes as an impatient guy stood in front of me. “Finally, I really have to pee!” It was one of the groomsmen, who was probably unaware of what kind of mess he had brought himself into. So was I.

The groom is expected to compete against his bride's father in a hunting match and emerge the victor but since mine didn't show up, every male wolf would participate in the hunt. “Isn't that the pack rejects?” One of them I recognized to be Sloane, Stephen’s friend, asked. “Yup,” The second guy replied loud enough for me to hear. “I heard the groom didn't show. Poor thing.” “You heard? Weren't you at the wedding?” The third guy asked. The second guy shrugged. “I can't concern myself with a useless things like her.” Then they broke into laughter and walked away. I looked over my shoulder at their retreating form and sighed. Couldn't they find anything better to talk about?
