Snow covered the whole world in cold white. I laughed, and tears fell with the laughter. But Joanna, I would not live to see three months from now. I was going to die in this winter.

Kyrah's POV After a long day outdoors, I feel so much better. It was fun hanging out with everyone. Vic drops Wren back to her hostel and Kye leaves moments after dropping Roxy at my house. Scott has been nothing but hilarious today, I never knew he's that funny. After dinner, mum starts complaining about Snow. "Honey, I've tried all I can since morning, but Snow won't leave your room. I say. Jack turns on the stereo and plays Christmas music so loud. “Okay now open them!” He says loudly. I open my eyes and I cannot believe what I’m looking at. I’m so speechless, it’s like the most beautiful Christmas house I’ve ever seen. It’s so beautiful there’s fairy lights at every corner, crystal reindeers and a sleigh in the front lawn, a wreath with red bows by the door. It started snowing so much, everything is covered with a layer of white snow!

I fall asleep, smiling at the idea of Snow and I finding a place that we can call home. I’m not sure how much later it is, but the sun has moved in the sky so that it is no longer hitting me. I open my eyes, wondering what woke me. I turn my head and see that Snow is moving around, agitated. “Snow, is something wrong?” I ask him. He turns to look at me and it’s at that moment that I hear a loud crack, followed immediately by Snow’s scream of pain.

However, the truth was, my name had been cleared. I took care of everything and sold the old house, ready to leave it all behind. Hank sent word he wanted to meet, but I did not want to see him. Outside, the snowmen stood like silent guests waiting for a wedding that would never happen. Nancy, with hands purple from the cold, drew a smile on a snowman's face. She smiled at me, just a little.
