It’s the 10th month of the year, the mating season, the time the high ranked wolves, the Alpha’s and kings comes trooping to the moon Blood pack. The moon Blood pack is the richest and most secure pack in the region. We are called daughters of the moon goddess because this is a pack of She wolves, no men allowed, well, except for mating which is pure politics these days.

Every mating season, the queen presents some of the finest maidens to be auctioned to the Alpha’s and kings. In turn they offer their alliance and valuable gifts that adds to the packs wealth. We are the wealthiest pack and it’s simply because we have strong and powerful Alphas and kings backing us. We are beautiful women with powerful wolves that every true born Alpha and king needs by his side as his Luna or queen.

As daughter of the moon goddess, a king or an Alpha is considered lucky to have one of us as his Luna. Our pure aura and sent surrounds our home and makes our mates stronger. A pack that is lucky to have us is considered a strong pack. Sometimes, an Alpha is lucky to finds his true mate amongst us, and that union is unbreakable and formidable. I really don’t know how it works, but we are considered special and I’m so proud to be from the Moon Blood pack. Although, it’s a bit overwhelming sometimes and I yearn for freedom and the Love of a man.

I’m the first daughter of the Alpha Queen of the Moon Blood pack and I look forward to the visit of the other gender, the ones I dreamed of. I’ve been seeing this guy in my dreams and he is not as bad as we are made to believe. You see, all our lives we have been taught how to act, how to dress seductively to leave men drooling and desiring our body. We are schooled in the pack, kept off radar and shielded like treasures.

“I’m so excited to be chosen for mating this season, Ariana. I can’t wait to find the perfect man for me,” I let out excitedly as I got dressed for the final training today. Ariana is my twin sister and we are complete opposites. She is a complete replica of our mom the queen and I wasn’t surprised when mom chose her as her successor. She is fierce and brutal in dealing with people, and that is the quality of a true leader. At least that’s what mom says. She is cute and tall with her blonde curls that made her stand out and look like a real queen.

Whereas I’m a bit short, chubby at the back side and busty. And I don’t have blonde curls like her and mom, I have a red head that annoys the queen each time she sees it. So I’m forced to hide my hair always. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not ugly and fat, I’m just not as beautiful as my sister and also not as confident as her. A competition is organized to chose the girls that would be auctioned to the alpha’s. The winners will stay back in the pack to bear more she-wolves to grow the pack while the losers are sold out to kings and Alpha’s to be their Luna.

Yeah, the queen is wise, she never gives away the best ladies. She is very diplomatic in making decisions, she wants everyone under her control always. And if you show signs of independence, if mom thinks you would not follow her instructions, then she makes you stay back to bear more girls and grow the pack. To some in the pack, staying back is a privilege and a blessing from the moon goddess. So passing the games is their priority. Certainly not mine…

I did everything possible to lose almost every game. I can’t imagine a life in this pack when my sister becomes queen. She will fucking make me miserable. This is not just my only chance to find love, it is my only chance to get away from a mother that favors one child over the other and a sister that hates my guts.

“Yeah, I can’t wait to have you out of my pack either. You are a disgrace to the family, Allie, you are nothing like us!” she spat out in disgust and walked away, leaving me staring after her. We may be twins, but we are nothing alike, and for some weird reason, she hates my guts and always tries to make things difficult for me.

She bullied me in highschool and made other students hate me as well. Although, sometimes I try not to blame her for my own clumsiness. I mean, it’s not her fault that I got the down side of the genes whereas she got all the good ones. To top it all, I haven’t met my wolf yet and everyone thinks I’m a disgrace to the pack. In the history of the Moon Blood pack, I’m the first princess without a wolf. Hence the hatred and bullying from everyone, including my mom and my sister.

“Ana wait!” I called out to her, walking up to meet her as she stopped like I asked.

“We are sisters Ana, and I would love to be welcomed home like a Trueborn each time I come back for a visit. Why don’t we put our differences aside and treat each other right. Who knows, you may need me tomorrow and I may need you too.” I told her, smiling at her. She turned to me with anger, glaring at me.

“What makes you think that you can stand before me, your future queen and speak with me in that manner?” she asked angrily, ripping my dress and smearing my makeup. As if that was not enough, she picked up my stilettos that sat by the corner and hit it on the wall repeatedly, breaking my hills. I stood by and let her satisfy herself. All our lives she has always wanted everything I had and if she couldn’t have it, she ruins it for me. So I’m used to seeing her go crazy, it’s not her first time.

“I don’t care who gets you, but I am sure that I will not be needing you for anything.” She told me proudly before walking away from the room. I have never been interested in the throne and I do not try to take anything from her. So I have no idea why she hates me this much. I picked another dress and got ready for the final training today. When I arrived, the trainers were teaching the other group how to get a random man that would get them pregnant.

“This is the posture that increases your chances of having a female child, remember to maintain eye contact and seduce your man until he follows you home.” She told them. These sets will be allowed to go into the city and find a man to get the pregnant with a female child to grow the pack. I’m so happy I didn’t fall into that group. I mean, what on earth would I do if I end up having a male child instead of the desired female and get banished from the pack?

“Your loyalty is with your sisters, your mates are just objects for pleasure and mating. Do not for a bond with the other gender, even if you belong to him. Once a bond is formed, you lose your sacred Aura that makes you special. Hurting one of your sisters is the worst crime ever and the punishment is banishment.” Queen Zeila warns us sternly. I was surprised she was handling the final training herself and I’m even more surprised that she is trying to make us hate the other gender even before we meet them.

“Love is never the goal. You are daughter of the moon goddess and your only priority is to make us proud and follow my instructions always.” She told us, telling us that she would be meeting with us often and we are now her eyes and ears outside. I don’t really understand what she meant by that, but I nodded like the other girls just to get it over with. The only thing on my mind is to meet that perfect man for me, that man that’ll make me feel special and love me unconditionally.
