This book is dedicated to Bukade—my awesome friend who's helped me very very much in the creation of this book, and Favour Edem, too—my first love, for taking her time to explain stuffs about Werewolves, and Vamps, and Witches to me. For all those looking into my book, Omega, which by the way is entering the ‘Mate the Alpha’ contest, I am quite optimistic that this book will be worth your time and you will enjoy every bit of it. ❤️

The little girl obeyed eagerly, discovering a title written in strange swirling letters across the center of the page. “Mom, what does it say? I can’t read yet…” Disappointed that she couldn’t decipher it on her own, she pouted softly and curled up against her mother’s chest. Her mother smiled tenderly and began reading aloud. “It says: Lycanthropic Myths and Legends. My dear, this book was written a very long time ago, and every wolf must own a copy. It tells of the origins of werewolves,the first transformation, our laws, and even the sacred bond of soulmates.”

One of the teenagers greets me. "Hi there, I'm doing well, thank you," I replied with a smile, grateful for the interruption. "Can I help you find something specific?" I asked. The teenagers looked at each other before one of them spoke up, "We're looking for a book on mythology for our school project."

Nyla didn’t understand figures of speech, nor was she up to date on modern language. Had they been cut off from the world when their master had been imprisoned? For how long? Legends about ancient Greece were thousands of years old. And in all those lore and legends, there wasn’t a single mention of a God of Justice... “I don’t think she’s questioning your powers, my old friend,” the horned god explained to the serpent, scratching her scales until she purred with delight. “But she’s had a long day and requires a meal and rest. Will you inform Nyx and Erebus to have a chamber ready for her and some food, please?”

They thought I would match the goddess of wisdom, Athena. Unfortunately, from all those meaningful meanings, I only got stuck with one—courage. My mom's Greek so she used to tell me stories about mythology when I was little but I myself, don't really give a damn about Greek mythology. I only know one though, Cupid which is Eros and Eros which is Cupid. Make sense.

Ha, there you go. "Alright. Let's get serious. Since Agape's a Greek, let's choose who's our favourite couple in Greek Mythology and elaborate it. You go first, Granny!" I giggled and wiggled my eyebrows at her. She hissed. She sipped to her wine glass first before answering.

’ He sniffled. ‘Maybe I can find a way to fix that, too,’ I muttered, scanning the pages of an ancient, dusty book I’d found buried in Moon Chasm’s library. I didn’t find anything. There were old fairy tales, so old they barely seemed recognisable anymore, that spoke of affronted gods casting down their children and making the first wolves. Some were classic tales, like the one about three pups going too near a river and being turned into toads to save them from drowning; others were cautionary tales, warning young wolves away from humans and forbidding any sort of romances between us and them – all in a fun, rhyming sort of way, of course.

Aiden eagerly shared this with his grandparents. "One Piece?" Shantelle asked with a brow raised. "Is that a book?" Everyone was at the dining table, having a feast. Lucas cleared his throat from his seat and answered, "It's a Japanese manga series, Mom." "It's an adventure story," Lucas added. "I know that manga. It is inspirational," Evan said. He chuckled and suggested, "But maybe we can read a shorter story for bed, Aiden?" "Um. Okay, okay," Aiden said, and by the look on his face, he was searching through his brain. Eventually, he suggested, "I like Greek Mythology."

He hooked his finger on the spine of a particularly old-looking volume and removed it, extending it toward her. Lily gripped the book in her hands, running her palm over the old leather cover. It was a book of retellings of classic Greek myths. She opened the book to somewhere in the middle, reading the header on the brown, aged page. “‘Orpheus and Eurydice,’” she read. “A love story,” he commented. “A tragic one.”

I pushed him away and went to the port, sitting between Anna and Beth. After a little bath in the Lake, we decided to go out in pairs and search the whole perimeter and see which pair gets to find their way back more quickly. It seemed boring and useless but at least that way we could pass time and have some adventure. Setting two jars in front of us, we placed ten folded chits. Names of the guys were in one jar and names of girls in one. The pairs were, Anna and Ron, Andy and Em, Beth and Duke, Jack and Livy leaving Ed and I.
