Before You Let Go
Rafi led us to the basement room, which had couches, a TV, board games, and a play area where Miro, Nica, and Sassa immediately started fighting over who got the biggest pillow.
I sat on one couch.
Caelan dropped beside me and, without asking, stretched his legs across my lap.
I stared at him. “Excuse me?”
“I’m tired.”
“Do I look like furniture?”
“A little.”
I shoved his legs off.
He put them back.
I shoved them again.
Rafi watched us from the other couch, grinning. “So this is happening.”
“No,” Caelan and I said at the same time.
Rafi’s grin widened. “Sure.”
