They start secretly seeing each other and this goes on until Damien suggests that they escape together but Elena fears for her family and tells Damien she can't do that. Damien discovered that Lukas is the one who killed his parents and that he is not the rightful alpha of the pack. With this information, he approaches the elders and the elders suggest that they both fight not only for the throne but also for the woman in question (Elena). Damien wins the fight and he not only keeps the throne but also his mate Elena.
