Ang maliit na indie bookstore na lagi niyang binibilhan ng romance novels para kay Venice dahil alam niyang mahilig ito sa happy endings. “Wala po siya rito, Sir. Mga dalawang linggo na rin,” sagot ng may-ari. Pumunta rin siya sa dating opisina ni Venice bago sila ikasal. Walang tao na nakakakilala pa sa kanya doon.

"Hinayaan mo na manghina siya at magkasakit 'wag lang kaming magkita! Ang selfish mo Dad! Napaka selfish mo! Sarili mo lang palagi ang iniisip mo!" "I-Im sorry... I'm really sorry Czes..." tumulo ang mga luha nito pero hindi ako nakaramdam ng kahit kaunting awa.

And it all happened. Dapat siguro mag-wish tayo ulit ngayong nandito tayo, Marco. Let’s wish for more happy things and—“ “You were the wish, Paige.” Natigilan ang dalaga. “H-ha?”

Wala iyon kanina. Ang chako na hawak ni Fritz...bakit... Bakit parang umaapoy?! Tinago ako ni Fritz sa likuran niya. Ramdam ko ang pagbilis ng tibok ng aming mga puso. Panay ang paglingon ni Fritz sa paligid na tila may inaabangan. Pati ako ay hindi na magawang mapalagay. May hindi tama... But don’t tell me. Or it won’t come true.” He stared at the little paper bird. “Then… I wish you’d stay.”

Tanong niya sa akin. "Pumasok ako sa isang bagay na ginusto ko." Sagot ko. Umiling iling siya sa akin at bumuntong hininga. "Dahlia. . . " "You don't have to say it. Alam ko ang ginagawa ko." Sabi ko at umayos na ng upo. "Alam mo pala pero bakit ginagawa mo pa din?" Tanong niya. "Let's just say that it's my last wish." Nakangiting sagot ko at hindi na nagsalita pa.
