Rembulan yang Terluka

Nothing could ever take the happiness I have felt at this moment. Today was the happiest moment of my life, for I am mated later on to the Alpha I loved the most. He didn't know anything about the secret feeling that I have for him.

My mother, Catherine, was currently combing my hair inside the room while I was doing my light make-up. I want to be the most beautiful woman tonight for my beloved mate.

“I just couldn't believe that my one and only daughter will be mated to the one she loved.” Mom said to me. I put down the mirror and turned around to face her. There's sadness from my mother's eyes, and I already knew why.

“Come on, Mom, nothing will change. I am still your daughter. It's just that… I was already owned by someone else.” I uttered that made my mom chuckle. He held both of my hands and stared at me deep into my eyes.

“You are always beautiful in my eyes, Darling. Whatever will happen, always remember that I love you, and I am so happy for you. This is your dream. I know Alpha Jace was your dream guy.” I smiled from what my mom had uttered. She knows me well. If there's anyone who knows me, it's my mom.

We just continued talking until the time that I was waiting had arrived. I started to feel very nervous. Everyone was already gathered in front of the huge field of the pack. Many had attended the mating celebration between me and Alpha Jace. Mom was holding my hand as we walked the way to where others were.

Everyone's eyes turned to us. However, my eyes were just fixated on the only man, Alpha Jace. He's standing in front wearing a black leather jacket. I couldn't help but to bite my upper lips as I felt butterflies in my stomach as I stared at his handsome face.

Mom suddenly chuckled. “You are fantasizing about him again.”

My face was flushed by what my mom had said. She was teasing me, but I just disregarded her. My eyes were still towards him. He's the man whom I wanted to be mated with. I know I was just a typical girl of this town who carried many secrets, but I was the luckiest, as others had said. I know it's because I was the chosen mate of the most handsome and powerful Alpha of this town. 

Mom and I stopped from walking just a few steps from Alpha Jace. He was looking straight in my eyes and I felt nervous because of how he looked at me. My mom, my father and my two brothers were standing at my back while the other pack members were just surrounding us.

Suddenly, Alpha Jace had spoken up that almost melted me down. It feels like my world has stopped from moving because of that.

“I am sorry, but the mating session is cancelled!” He shouted to everyone. It creates different reactions coming from the werewolves. I froze in my direction like I couldn't even form a word.

“What do you mean by that, Alpha Jace?” Mom asked him for me. She knows that I was starstruck.

Alpha Jace turned his head in our direction. His eyes were blazing in anger like he wanted to eat me alive.

“You all lied! Margaux doesn't have a wolf, and there is no reason for me to make her as my mate!” Alpha Jace said, and tears just fell to my eyes. Now it all started to make sense to me. Alpha Jace wanted to cancel the mating because I didn't have a wolf!

He just discovered my hidden secret and I didn't know what to do.

“We are so sorry for what happened, Alpha Jace. Believe me, we are not aware that my daughter was wolf-less!” My dad said, and was doing his best to explain his side towards Alpha Jace.

“I couldn't believe you would do this to me, Margaux. No wonder why I don't like you ever since. The hatred I felt when I always saw your face makes sense to me now. It is because you are carrying a dark secret. You are wolf-less, and I have no idea why my wolf still chooses you!”

I know he's mad. The way he mentioned those words, Alpha Jace was so mad that he wanted to kill me.

“I-I have no intentions to lie, Alpha Jace. Please don't do this to me. It d-doesn't matter if I'm wolf-less as long as your wolf has chosen me, right?” I begged, but he just looked at me with a disgusted expression on his face.

“Don't you know how I hated liars, huh? Are you nuts? What made you think that I will accept a weak and a wolf-less woman like you?” He asked with his blank expression.

My heart seemed shredded apart to hear those painful words from him. I really can't imagine myself being apart from him. He's the Alpha I want to be mated with. I couldn't imagine myself being mated to the other wolves. Alpha Jace was my dream man ever since. I know it's impossible, but when he announced that his wolf had found his mate before, I was the luckiest woman living on earth. And especially when he announced that I was his mate.

“I am willing to do everything you wanted me to do, Alpha Jace. But please, just accept me. Don't cancel this mating session. We must continue it.” I don't care if I sound desperate. I was doing this for the love of my life. I don't want to be away from him because he's the man I love, even though he didn't see it.

“F**ck it off, Margaux! Don't act like a desperate ass! My mind won't change. I will never continue this mating anymore!” He angrily said and turned his back.

I felt my legs tremble. I gave in to my knees, and I kneeled down to the ground with my eyes filled with tears.

“Don't hurt my feelings, Alpha Jace. I can prove to you that I wasn't wolf-less at all…” Of course, I don't want to lose a little hope.

“No need.” He said that made my world turn upside down. 

“Because I, the future Alpha King of the Red Moon Pack, rejects you, Margaux Lightwood as my mate. You can leave the pack now or else, I will forcefully throw you out of here!”

I closed my eyes, bit my bottom lips, and imagined that everything I heard from him was just a nightmare. A horrible nightmare.
