I covered my face from the shockwave, then sprinted inside.
Smoke, alarms, collapsing steel—and there, half-buried under debris, Rhea coughed, eyes open.
“Got you,” I said, hauling her up.
She grinned weakly. “Told you I always make it back.”
But before we could move, the central monitor flickered again—Jake’s face forming out of static.
“It’s not over. She escaped the core… and she’s inside the global grid.”
Rhea’s smile faded. “You mean the clone?”
