I say bowing my head and standing back from the bench. "Good. Get out of here. I have servers coming to take these things to the ballroom." Luna demanded. I kept my head bowed and left through the back door of the kitchen then up the backstairs. I climbed the three flights of stairs until I reached the last door. I opened it and went inside, making sure to lock it as I went inside and climbed another flight of stairs to the attic. It was full of spiderwebs and crap everywhere and I made my way through that room until I finally got to the little cot that was against the wall and I laid down on the bed looking out the window at the sky above me as the sun was setting.

I muttered and shuffled toward the library in search of the tan leather-bound book. Atticus’s library was enormous and the shelves of books also housed different magical artifacts on display. I was warned to not mess with them until I understood their properties. Searching everywhere I was growing frustrated. Heading down the last book case I growled. Not having any luck locating the book I gritted my teeth, closed my eyes, and raised my arms “Room of my family's bloodline please allow me to enter by showing me the book for your entrance!” Opening my eyes and tilting my head I heard movement down the row of shelving. Going toward the sound I see a tan book sticking out on the bottom shelf.

She pushed the attic door open, slipping inside and locking it behind her. The attic was vast, cluttered with forgotten relics of the past. Moonlight filtered through a small circular window, casting eerie shadows across the room. Sasha leaned against the door, trying to steady her breathing, when her eyes caught something glinting on the far side of the attic. She approached cautiously, weaving through the dust-covered furniture and cobweb-laden boxes. The glint came from a large, ornate chest, its brass fittings polished and pristine as if untouched by time. Sasha hesitated, her instincts warring against her curiosity, but something compelled her to lift the heavy lid.

I take a book about herbal medicine. Sitting on the couch, flicking through the pages, I toss the book aside. I leave the room and wander up the hall. The smell of cooked apples and warm caramel hit my nose again. I follow the smell until it leads me to an old staircase that goes up into an attic I slowly walk up the stairs. They appear rotten and damp. I reach the door handle, turn the knob, and push the door open. As the door creaks open, I see a really old thin mattress in the corner of the room—a broken chair in the other corner and a full-length broken mirror missing half the glass.

There is one tiny window from the opposite side of the room, showing just enough light to lead the way.
