Marisol smiled into her coffee. “You get used to it.”
Maybe that was the problem.
I was getting used to it.
Breakfast was pancakes, eggs, fried rice, and more food than seemed reasonable for a Saturday morning. Everyone talked over everyone. The younger kids woke up one by one, and Miro immediately asked if we could go outside after eating.
“We’re staying home today,” Tita Lani announced. “Dinner later sa labas, pero for now, dito muna tayo.”
