“Wow. I’m powerful.”
“Annoying,” he corrected. “But yeah.”
I smiled despite myself.
Then he said, “Also, I should probably get you something for Christmas.”
My heart tripped. “You were going to get me a present?”
He looked offended. “I’m your boyfriend. Isn’t that part of the job?”
I stared at him.
Boyfriend.
The word still felt unreal.
“You’re enjoying this,” I said.
“A little.”
“You’re awful.”
“You like me.”
“Unfortunately.”
