"I would love to see you teach again, Prof. Magnaye." I said and called her by her new title. Natuwa naman ito sa kaniyang narinig. "Anyway, I think Anthony wants to say something to you."

Mas pipiliin pang manakit kaysa tumahimik na lang—ayoko talaga sa taong ganyan.

His voice was rough before walking away. “Ang bastos naman ng batang iyon.” Danica whispered again. I gave her the dead pan look. “You said, he is around in our age. So technically, he wouldn’t say ‘po at opo’ to us.” “Duh! We are still teachers. And teachers should be respected especially he doesn’t have profession within his name! Nako ha! Major turn off!” Danica flipped her hair.

I've been teaching for 30 years passionately, and helping those children who cannot afford education really motives me more to teach and give them a chance. I can't afford to lose it. I just arrived on time. Timing na pagdating ko, pumasok na rin yung prof. Mainit ang ulo nito kaya kami ang napagbuntungan. Tsk. I really hate educators like that. Yung badtrip sila sa ibang bagay tapos sa students binubunton? Yuck, very unprofessional, nakakababa ng tingin eh. Dahil sa sobrang badtrip niya, bigla siyang nagpaquiz na hindi niya pa nalelesson. Maraming nagreklamo kasi hindi pa nga nalelesson pero wala rin namang nagawa kasi prof pa rin yun.

Nang ako na ang tinawag, huminga ako nang malalim at sinabi. “For me, success is defined by transformation. It’s not about what you own, but what you’ve changed in yourself, and in others. True leadership heals, it doesn’t conquer.” Tahimik ang lahat. Tumingin ako sa screen at nakita kong nakangiti ang professor. “That’s beautifully said, Amanda. Education isn’t just learning; it’s rediscovering who you are.” At doon ko naramdaman na hindi ko lang natapos ang kurso bagkus natagpuan ko ulit ang sarili kong tinig.

“Are you really just going to stare? Can’t you feel my buddy tapping you down there already?” Hindi ko lubos na maisip na may ganitong side pa pala si Easton. Bilang isang guro, akala ko ang mga salita na kaya lang niyang bitawan ay ‘yong mga aral na punong-puno ng moralidad at disiplina. Napalunok ako habang ang kaniyang mga mata ay tila hinuhubaran hindi lang ang aking katawan, kundi pati na rin ang aking kaluluwa.

“Honestly, Ma’am… I miss teaching. I miss the classrooms, the students, the smell of chalk and markers, even the sound of their laughter and complaints. Ang saya ng buhay ko noon. Simple, pero puno ng saysay. Ngunit ngayon… everything has changed. Hindi ko alam kung kaya ko pang bumalik.” Tumango si Ma’am Vallez, para bang naiintindihan niya ang bigat ng bawat salita ko. “I understand. Life is never the same once you step into another chapter. But sometimes, teaching does not end within the four walls of a classroom. The way I see it, you are already teaching—through the strength you are showing, through the choices you are making for your child.”

Paano niya magagawang ibintang ang lahat sa propesor? Ang propesor nya ay kilalang tagapayo ni Sophia at labis na humahanga kay Francis at Sophia. Palaging sinasabi ng propesor na sila ang pinakamahuhusay, pinakamatalino, at pinakamalalakas ang loob na negosyanteng kanyang naturuan sa larangan ng pananalapi.
