There was a few things people who lived in or grew up in the town of Andover, Oregon could say. One. The summers are short and dry and the winters are long and cold. 2. Wildlife was flourish and on any given day you might see a bear, elk, or even a wolf in your backyard. And 3. And possibly the most obvious- Quinn Emery Gibson would one day probably marry Finley Ada Hudson.

You see these two had been thrown together at a very young age. But what happened the summer before their freshman year in high school was the turning point. Quinn was very popular. His square jawline, brown, wispy hair and general smart ass attitude had won him a legion of followers. He was tall and lean, and muscular with a year round tan despite living in one of the cloudiest states. And he was loyal as they came. He loved his group of friends. But outsiders didn’t get the same respect. Quinn was hardened due to life - as much as a young boy could be at his age. He trusted no one other than those closest to him. Some people say this only happened after his mom ran off with a stranger when he was 11 years old.

They had met the man in the grocery store one day and he immediately had started asking his mom questions, complimenting her and telling her how beautiful she was, and how she should come with him to Seattle to do some practice shots for a commercial he was working on. Quinn didn’t realize at the time, that his mother had been wanting, and looking for a way out for a Long time. The next day he had woken up to a note she had left them, saying she had gone to give the entertainment business a shot. For some reason, his dad didn’t seem surprised. But it was his older brother Huxley who took it the hardest.

Four years older than Quinn at 15 Hux understood more what this meant. Their mom was gone and she wasn’t coming back. When they hadn’t heard from her a few months later their dad began making phone calls, then a week later a policeman showed up at their door. Their mothers body had been found in an embankment close to the sound in Seattle. They suspected foul play. Now while this obviously affected the whole family, Huxley again took it the hardest..

A few years passed, the boys became older . Hux began getting into trouble, doing drugs and stealing and fighting. Quinn also changed the day they found out about their mom. Fighting was the only way he could release his rage. Unlike Huxley however, he did not turn to hard drugs. The two brothers became part of an illegal fighting ring, in which bets were placed in an abandoned wharehouse or any other area the cops couldn’t find them. Although both were strong- nobody could quite withstand the power that Quinn had. Huxley was good, but Quinn had something a little extra. That little special something. Only people from out of town that didn’t really know him would ever dare to fight. Plus if they happened to win they payout was high. It bothered Hux that his younger brother was so much better than him. Hux was mad at the world and wanted to take it out on any and everyone, including his brother.

Their dad, John, immersed himself in work. He took a partnership at a law firm - he bought a new house for him and the boys. They each got brand new trucks and other toys their dad had hoped would occupy them. The boys threw parties in their new big house several times a year. Quinn loved to drink and have fun with his friends while Hux and his friends spent their time getting high in the basement.

Finley and Quinn had become closer over the years since his mom passed. She was always there for him. One night at one of their parties Finley had gone off from the group to go to the bathroom. Huxley and a couple of guys had just finished doing a line of cocaine when they noticed her coming downstairs. Oblivious to what was about to happen she went into the bathroom, followed quickly by Hux. Anger had been eating him up that day. He had lost another fight the night before where Quinn had won his again. Even at 15, Quinn had the power to take down his opponent like no one else could. Jealous of his brother and to prove a point, Hux tried to kiss Finley after locking the bathroom door behind her. She denied him and that’s when it happened. Quinn was upstairs with Elias and Asher when he heard what sounded like glass breaking and someone screaming. He rushed downstairs to see what had happened and heard shouting coming from the bathroom. He eventually was able to break the door down and pull Hux off of Finley but it was too late. He had already raped her and from the looks of her bloodied face he had almost killed her too. It took four people to pull Quinn off his brother that night.

Finley ended up having to stay in the hospital a few days but eventually made a full recovery. During that time Quinn never left her side, he felt responsible and guilty. That was the true beginning of Quinn and Finley. Huxley, now 19 was tried as an adult and sent to prison. Quinn became even harder and more angry than before. He even hated people who weren’t in his immediate circle more than ever. From then on, Finley stuck to Quinn like glue. So everyone in the school and in the town knew about Finley and Quinn. Everyone except a girl named Emerson.
