“There are rules. You break them, you pay. That’s how the world works.”
He stood again, glancing briefly at Nina — like he was testing her reaction. “You see, agapi mou, mercy is expensive. And I don’t waste resources.”
He nodded once.
A gunshot cracked the night.
Nina flinched violently, hands flying to her ears. The man’s body hit the ground with a dull thud.
She couldn’t breathe.
Her knees buckled, but Hades caught her arm before she could fall. His grip was iron.
“Look at me,” he ordered.
