HOLD ME TIGHT, SIR SEBASTIAN (SSPG)
Sometimes, when the morning is quiet and the city is still asleep, he’ll pull me close and dance with me in the living room, music or no music.
I love teaching. I love the chaos, the noise, the way kids’ eyes light up when you finally get through to them. I love the challenge, the tiny victories, and the way I see bits of my old self in some of my students—young, uncertain, but full of hope. The faculty is different now; there’s no longer a shadow in the halls, no more secrets to hide. I walk the corridors of St. Margarette with my head held high, and when the old anxieties creep in, I remember how far I’ve come.
