Kraner let out a sigh, clearly torn between amusement and disbelief. “Tsk,” he muttered, shaking his head. “You really are something else. You’ll charge head-on at men with guns, fight off drug dealers and criminals without flinching—but the moment you think of a ghost, you suddenly turn into a scared little girl.”
He looked at her, half-annoyed, half-amused, wondering how someone so fearless in life-threatening situations could be so helpless over something as intangible as a ghost.
