🌼Amari's P. O. V.🌼

The next two days is my 21st birthday. The day I've been waiting for my whole life. I will find my mate. Hopefully! 

Every she-wolf, as soon as they turn 21, will be able to detect their mates, or their mates will be able to detect them, while males as soon as they turn 20. Both should turn on their right ages to be able to find their mates. 

I am currently in my room right now, I just got home from school.

I am Amari Uma Franco, an omega, the lowest rank in the werewolf world. I belong to the pack called, Mångata Pack. I am the maid. I work around the pack as I am the only omega here. 

Our pack has been expecting an Alpha for so long.

The new Alpha had arrived just a while ago. I can hear many different voices from downstairs, but it was muffled.

I finished changing into loose jumper pants, a black oversized shirt, and a white pair of sneaker shoes. I don't wear fitted clothes, only loose clothes. These clothes are handed down to me by the other males and female werewolves who are older. 

I used to get bullied when I was a child which gets less as soon as I stepped into college. Yet, I still get verbally abused by some of my childhood bullies. Other guys tried to take advantage of me, but I don't allow them to do it. Number one person who still didn't stop insulting me with hurtful words that were never true, Kelly.

I headed downstairs to help the chefs to make dinner for everyone. We are the ones serving food. The chefs here are husbands and wives who are both in their early fifties, Eva and Ben. They are both very kind. They knew about the bullying, but not how bad it was. I am still grateful because I have a parent figure here.

When I reached the kitchen, they are both already preparing to cook.

"Hi, Uma," Eva greeted as she acknowledged my presence. "Would you mind washing and peeling this off?"

She handed me a sack of potatoes. "Not at all," I said. "I'll do it." Ben smiled at me to which I returned.

Eva turned to me with a worried expression and ask, "Have you seen the new Alpha? They said that he is a person not to mess with."

"As long as we do not cross paths with him," Ben shrugged. "There's no need to worry."

"Don't worry, he has a mate to control him," I tried to lighten the mood. "I'm sure the Luna is with him, right?"

"I met them when they came and he hasn't found his mate yet," Ben informed us. " Only the Beta, Delta, Commander in chief, and other great warriors are with him."

I'm beginning to get curious about how old the alpha is. "How old is the new Alpha?" I asked.

"He is only 27," Ben told me. "That's what they informed about him."

At 27 and he hasn't found his mate yet. How is he able to control himself from going ballistic? Mate is someone who can keep each other calm and collected whenever something is not right or out of hand. I am excited about finding my mate. I will be with my mate to protect and take me away from being abused.

I began to place the food as everyone takes their seat at the long table. 

When I was done placing the last dish, a man with power radiating through him entered the dining room. With him are 3 other guys. I am a hundred percent sure that the first guy was the Alpha and the other three are also carrying rank with them.

I didn't know I had been staring at him when he smiled at me with an unreadable expression on his face. He has small cute dimples on his cheeks. I only have one dimple, laced in my right cheek. I looked down to the floor to hide my blushing face from embarrassment, and the warmth I felt from the way he stares at me. That is until I saw Kelly take the seat near him while glaring at me. I felt nauseous. I had to take a hold of the wall to stop myself from falling. I get anxious whenever she's there to insult me.

This Alpha man was about to stand and the three other guys with him did the same when Kelly stood up. She glared at me for a while before whispering something to this Alpha guy. It formed a frown on his face and his jaws clenched. He was looking ahead as if contemplating, whether to believe or not.

The three other guys looked at me for a while, then at the Alpha guy who is clenching and unclenching his fists.

The substitute alpha, Mr. Grate, who will lead a welcome ceremony tomorrow stood up. He found his mate from another pack outside the city and decided to live her simple life. We have been expecting a new Alpha ever since, but he was trained for 10 years before he will take over our pack. Now, he is here. 

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Please, have a seat," Mr. Grate began and everyone sat down. "I would like to unofficially introduce to you the new Alpha of the Mångata Pack, Alpha Andres Sage D'Angelo!" 

The new Alpha who now has a name to me stands up and looks around. 

When his eyes met mine, they no longer held the warmth from earlier. Instead, it held disgust. I stand there uncomfortably and began to play with my fingers nervously. I don't know what just happened, but I'm sure it has something to do with what Kelly said to him. I don't want to be rude to Kelly, even though she has been insulting me since the very beginning. She really hated me for no reason. What I hate about her is when she spread rumors about me sleeping with almost every guy at school and guys in the pack. Those were never true. I am someone who waits before marriage. I value myself so much. I actually felt bad for Kelly. When her parents died, she turned from a quiet to a wild girl. She became a promiscuous woman. I've heard sounds from her room many times when I happened to be passing by, and a guy would come out of her room. She has brought many guys in there. What I don't understand about her, is that she has a mate. Maybe they don't care about each other.

"Good evening! I am Alpha Andres Sage D'Angelo, Your new Alpha." Alpha guy spoke. "I will not officially introduce myself. That is something I will do for tomorrow's official Welcome Ceremony with the substitute Alpha, Mr. Grate. For now, let me introduce these gentlemen. My Beta, Jedrick Jones Anderson," he pointed to the guy who stands up. He is a tall guy with golden bronze hair. "My Delta, Xander Malic D'Angelo..." he signaled for the guy with ash brown hair. The last guy then stands up on his own, as Alpha Andres speaks, " The Commander-in-chief, Chase Reed Jackson!" The guy with soft black hair sits back smiling at everyone. 

Alpha Andres looked up in my direction and immediately averted his eyes, clearing his throat. "I hope to know everyone as soon as possible." His eyes wander again without looking at me this time. "Chase and other of my warriors will interview each one of you later to know you better. I also want to have a record of all of you with me. That's all I wanted to say."

When Alpha Andres was situated in his seat, Kelly began looking at him with a glint in her eyes and lowering her already off-shoulder dress, even more. What else is there to pull down when it's already showing half of her large chest? Now, I'm ashamed of my small breast. Hah! There's no way I'm going to be ashamed of mine. It should be her. At least I can run fast without anything on the way. 

I just rolled my eyes at my thought and began walking back to the door of the kitchen, when a gentle voice stops me.

"Hey, aren't you going to join us?" I turned around confused. It was Delta Xander who called out. Who's he talking to? "Yes, you. What's your name, baby girl?" I gape at him. He is speaking softly as if speaking to a child. I look around and everyone's attention is now on me, but one particular person is holding the spoon tightly and whose jaws are clenched, Alpha Andres. His other companions are also staring at me with kind eyes, smiling.

"She's not going to join us," Kelly said smirking at me. "She's got a lot of work to do. Why don't you bring us the dessert, Omega?" She spat.

I look down feeling embarrassed. I wish the ground would swallow me right now. 

"That's enough, Kelly!" Mr. Grate snapped. "Amari doesn't really like eating in the dining area. Do what you need to do, Amari."

"Ex-excuse me," I stammered. "I'll get the dessert, right away."

I came back with the dessert, Eva, Ben and I made. Strawberry-rhubarb upside-down cake. 

As I was placing the dessert in the middle of the table near Delta Xander, he whispered, "You didn't tell me your name, piccolina." I'm sure almost everyone heard because they gaze at me. Even Alpha Andres from across where I am standing stopped chewing.

"Ummm..." I whispered while playing with the strap of my jumper. "My name is Amari."

"That's a beautiful name, cara." Now, it's Beta Jedrick who chimed in.

"Indeed, a beautiful name which means eternal," Chase chimed in. He is the commander-in-chief.

"Do you want to eat with us this time, Amari?" Mr. Greta asked me. I only shook my head.

All this while, Alpha Andres has been observing the whole scene with an expression I couldn't decipher. Only one thing is for sure, he is not pleased. I did the only possible option.

"I'm sorry," I hang my head low. "I gotta go."

I immediately leave for the kitchen and finish cleaning. I don't understand why, but I have a strong feeling something bad will happen. Tomorrow night is the Welcome Ceremony, which means there's a party. I don't like parties. Though it rarely happens, this time for the new Alpha, they will throw a celebration after the ceremony.

After finishing all the work around the pack house, I headed to my room at the Attic to finish school work. I will still attend half-day of school tomorrow and pass all my finished school works. After that, I can finally help the others in preparing for the ceremony.

I rest for the night to be ready tomorrow.
