The sound of growling followed behind me, accompanied by the sound of claws scratching the wooden floor.
My legs carried me to the forest behind the house. Tall trees towered overhead, their branches forming a dark canopy that blocked the moonlight. Protruding roots and undergrowth made my steps stumble, but I kept running.
