친구와 뮤직 페스티벌에 가기로 약속한 날 나는 오빠의 첫사랑에 의해 화장실에 갇히고 말았다. “요즘 어린 것들이 왜 이렇게 발랑 까졌는지 몰라. 감히 대표인 내 남자 친구를 꼬셔?” “내가 오늘 너 톡톡히 손봐준다. 부모님이 교육을 그따위로 시켰으면 내가 바로잡아줘야지.” 나는 해명하려 했지만 아무 소용이 없었다. 화장실 대걸레를 빤 물을 내 몸에 뒤집어씌우는가 하면 모두가 보는 앞에서 내 따귀를 후려친 것도 모자라 내 옷을 벗기고 빨갛게 지져진 인두로 내 몸에 ‘빌어먹을 세컨드’라는 글자를 새겼다. 오빠가 도착했을 때 나는 이미 얼굴을 알아볼 수 없을 정도로 망가진 상태였다. “인혁아, 내 말 좀 들어봐. 나는 네 친동생인 줄 정말 몰랐어. 그냥 아끼는 동생이라고 생각했지.”
